Default Finding an amp for 2 10" subs

Hey guys, let me start off by saying am a noob-in-training when it comes to advance audio, simple speaker hookups I can handle, but I just keep getting confused with this;

I have two 330RMS 10" Sony subs I wanna hook up, I *THINK* I need a 2-ch amp with a RMS rating of ~650-700RMS correct?

Also I have the stock 86 "Premium" stereo still in the car and its staying, since I dont have pre-amp outputs, I also need a speaker-level input on the amp?

Default RE: Finding an amp for 2 10" subs

For number of channels all depends. Bass is bass. You normally want to run that in Mono/bridged off of an amp. If you get a Sub specific amp it will have a built-in high band adjustable cut-off so you won't need an addtional crossover for your subs. Mono amps are usualy designed specifically for a subs so they tend to sound best than a two channel (stereo) amp that is just bridged for single channel.

Also, consider how you want to hook up your speakers, series or parallel.

Preamp is recommended but some amps have built-in line-level adapters so it may not be needed. Find your amp first then see if the pre-amp is needed.

mono amp, looks like hooking them up in parallel would be best, also has the Speaker Level Inputs and Preamp Outputs
