Absolutely beautiful, but it's too bad the "average Joe" can't enjoy one without robbing a bank .

How much do you think this thing will weigh? I have a feeling, even with a lightweight hood, this thing will still be "a ton of bricks". I think this kind of car could be the perfect opportunity for Ford to build a Z06 eater. Certainly for the expected price it should be. But, alas, I fear not.

You can buy and bolt almost every aspect of these cars on to your stock GT. I would do that before I ever paid that much of a mark up on a Mustang. I personally would put on everything "but" the Cobra badges. I think I would even rondomly select someone out of the crowd at a car show and have them sign my glove box. LOl. I really think the money Shelby raises for chariities is commendable, but the scheme of building a limited number of top of the line vehicles , in order to drive up the price is wrong. My plan is to pick up a Legend Lime 05 or 06 GT , 5 speed off of a used car lot in a year or two , and then start the modification process. My plain Jane Legend Lime with the Shelby body mods and after market SC will one day pull high 11's or low 12's. I actually like the idea I saw in a recennt mag. The guy slid a 428 CJ into an 06 GT. It was a thing of beauty.

ORIGINAL: Justabear Production of 1000, will cross six figures, FORD further screws the loyal fan base. easily.....with only 1000 i doubt they will even go to dealers. You would have to know somebody, who knows somebody whos knows CEO or something. I am pretty sure you are right. From what I read in AutoWeek they are going to have some type of "lottery" system to decide who gets this car. There is going to be / there already is an extremely high demand for this car as it will be VERY collectable. You probably will never see this car on dealer lots or for even driving on the streets. Talk about a true garage queen....

I just watched an interview with Carroll Shelby on Youtube.... "We haven't even decided on the numbers yet. Someone said 1000, but I never signed off on that" Right out of Shelby's mouth.....1000 is not confirmed yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjCBPqJvmGc

"How in the world can Ford make something so beautiful and so much in demand, but be in the financial situation they are in now? Someone up there needs to get their head out of their ass and give us more stuff like this." funny you should ask that, many people get so pissed off at ford for making special edition mustangs with great performance and styling at such a high price (markups) and then give the base model no ground effects, a 210 hp V6 (dodge charger has a 240 V6 engine) and single exhaust, that they dont even want a damn mustang after they make a visit to a ford dealership. after getting jerked around on a GT, I was so fed up I told the dealer to give me a damn V6 fully loaded, and if he broke my ballz one more time I was going to piss on the GT's tires!!!! Ford needs to make a specialty vehicle in the low 30G's or high 20G's instead of catering to 1000 lucky people who are willing to blow $100,000+ on a car that Ford probably doesnt even care about! so **** them, I bought the V6 instead of the GT, now in 2 years I'll buy a Shelby GT, atleast I'll have some money for the high markup after I sell the sixer. thats my rant.....sorry.
