there not much faster, they have a real bad problem with throttle lag, both interiors are cheap, depends on what you like more

honestly theres not much of a difference until you start to mod. how many miles are on your car?

id say its not worth it to upgrade unless if you have a lot of miles and if that then just upgrade to an 99-04 gt for lees than or same price 2007 V6 and it would be faster that is if you prefer the new edge style. now if your prefer the s197 style then by all means upgrade. id recomend keeping yours or GT

New V6s would smoke that 2004 V6 stock for stock...especially with a manual.  I know because:

1.  I test drove 2002-2004s before I bought my 2005.
2.  My friend has an 2003 GT that I can keep up with.
3.  I've raced and beat older V6s too many times.
4.  Bigger motor, more HP, more stable ride, nicer interior.
5.

I don't have any throttle lag on my 07/V6. Power increase but unless  have over 100k on your current Mustang why not wait until 2010 Mustang. Save up the money for some nice options when the time comes.

i'd have to agree, the new models are nicer, and respond better to mods from what i've seen, but you could always luck out and maybe find a used mach1 or a mid 90's cobra.. right after i bought my 06 4.0, my buddy bought an 03 mach 1 with 12k for only 21k

2.) 1-2ish car difference in a race between the two
3.) wow, 7- 12 more cubic inches, big deal they ride about the same, and both the interiors are cheap and suck

I actually like our interiors on the 05+.. I test drove an 03 GT a few weeks ago I was thinking about trading in my 05 V6 for and I hated the interior of it. It reminded me of my old 95 T-bird, which is not a good thing lol... It is small and very old/crappy looking

yeah new interior is a BIG improvement over 99-04 imo, i am a definite fan of it, the 05+ V6 > 99-04  V6
the ride is better in the new one, and the interior is nicer, but it's also more expensive.

Unless you've driven both, you are offering no insight here, Camaro dude.  I've raced older V6 Mustangs and haven't encountered one yet that has been within 2 cars.  I've beaten a '89, '95 and '98 GT.   I owned a 3.8 V6 and I beat more cars now then I ever could with my old Mustang.  There are 4.0's on this site that could smoke your Camaro.  You imply that a "1-2ish" car difference is not alot?  Well, there are plenty of other 4.0's on this site that might only lose to you by "1-2ish" cars.  A win is a win.

I also find it hilarious that you call the Mustang interior cheap.  Man, take a look at ANY GM interior!  The '92 Camaro is certainly not the epitome of style.

Hey heres an idea, get a clue. Stop running around bashing the mustang. You really should be on a Camaro site.Cheap interior? What! They ride the same? The S197 V6 is a better handeling car (due to the weight) than the GT.

go for the 4.0 car-better in all ways. when i had my old 89 5 liter 5 speed with full exhaust and stock 2.73 gears, i ran an 05 v6 when they first came out, and damn it was close. i only beat him by one car length going from a dig to about 80. and im sure the driver mod was in my favor cause the 05's had just came out.
