Im not sure cause I've never drove a 99-04 but you should go test drive one. You'd probobly like it.

there not much faster, they have a real bad problem with throttle lag, both interiors are cheap, depends on what you like more

honestly theres not much of a difference until you start to mod. how many miles are on your car?

id say its not worth it to upgrade unless if you have a lot of miles and if that then just upgrade to an 99-04 gt for lees than or same price 2007 V6 and it would be faster that is if you prefer the new edge style. now if your prefer the s197 style then by all means upgrade. id recomend keeping yours or GT

New V6s would smoke that 2004 V6 stock for stock...especially with a manual. I know because:

1. I test drove 2002-2004s before I bought my 2005.
2. My friend has an 2003 GT that I can keep up with.
3. I've raced and beat older V6s too many times.
4. Bigger motor, more HP, more stable ride, nicer interior.
5.

I don't have any throttle lag on my 07/V6.Power increase but unless have over 100k on your current Mustang why not wait until 2010 Mustang. Save up the money for some nice options when the time comes.

i'd have to agree, the new models are nicer, and respond better to mods from what i've seen, but you could always luck out and maybe find a used mach1 or a mid 90's cobra.. right after i bought my 06 4.0, my buddy bought an 03 mach 1 with 12k for only 21k

1.) your friend needs to learn how to drive
2.) 1-2ish car difference in a race between the two
3.) wow, 7- 12 more cubic inches, big deal they ride about the same, and both the interiors are cheap and suck

I actually like our interiors on the 05+.. I test drove an 03 GT a few weeks ago I was thinking about trading in my 05 V6 for and I hated the interior of it. It reminded me of my old 95 T-bird, which is not a good thing lol... It is small and very old/crappy looking
