it all depends on how much money your willing to spend. if you got about 700 definatly go with the C&L CAI with Tuner. it shows the largest gains that i have seen. personally i dont have enough money YET for a tuner so im going with the MRT CAI. As far as the Noise goes you will hear the engine pulling in more air so it will be noticable but its not like a hissing sound ( the sound of a turbo). but you will hear it.

Another vote for the C & L CAi and SCT tuner combo. Got 25 RWHP with just the tune and intake, another 10 with the sinlge flowmaster AT added. short shifter and torque limiters and it drives very well and controlled off the line and with cruise set at 60 over a distance I got 30.6 MPG!!!. a 14 second car that gets 30mpg....and looks good too...hmm...am I dreaming?

I feels teh same way!
I chose the C&L combo from brenspeed. I figured If I was going to spend this much money.. I should do it right the first time.
And yes, you do hear it sucking in more air.. kinda cool... not too loud though.

Nothing better then the sound of an intake on a cool night. I dunno how loud they are on the 4.0L, but my old zetec roared with the intake, sounded 10x better then those ricer fart cans

I would ge either C & L or demolet........I had a C & L but sold it because I prefered the custom look and color of the demolet intake......they make about the same power gains I would say....I would recommend 100% going with one that requires a tune. It definetly makes a huge difference......you will love it.......as far as claiming 35rwhp.......from intake tune and exhaust...........I dont believe it.

I will give you my non expert take.

Most of your HP gain will come with the more agressive tune, not the intake. That being said a CAI will flow more air than stock so you can get more performance out of a CAI than a stock unit. Now if you get a CAI that does not require a tune then are you flowing more air, no not really else you would need a tune because you would be running to lean. I think the response you will get is to save up and get a CAI and a tuner combo. There are some used items floating around in the classifieds or ebay, but I would stay away from CAIs that do not require a tune, it is cheaper but I do not think you will get noticable gains from it.
