I have a 96 mustang gt I was wonder what would be a good tire. I go to the track sometimes too I also have 4.10 gears. Rear would be 275/40/17 and front 245/45/17.

I have just bought a 1996 GT convertible fitted with 245/45 R17 95H tires. Kumho ECSAT AST front with good tread depth; Nankung Sport NS-1 rear with very little tread. I fitted a new rack. Shocks, struts and alignment all OK. Car still drives like a dog. It follows every road irregularity and unless the road is dead smooth it is a horrible car to drive. I would not mix tires from choice but am confused with the options. I don't think much of the Kumhos (and they and the Nankung seem to be cheap tires) but can I put them on the rear and put new tires on the front. Must I replace all 4? Any suggestions. What is a good tire for the car? It's 99% driven in dry conditions, on road and not at high speed (I'm a senior re-living his youth!). Anyone else had the same problem and found a solution? Thanks for all replies.
your best bang for the buck would be the bfg kd's go with 275's on the rear depending on what size your rear wheels are and 255's on the fronts because they are actually cheaper than 245's. Don't go with kumho's though the are cheap.
