That mit be an ok short block but deffintly ask about the brand names of the parts. Personally when a company doesn't put the brand names of the parts they use I think cheap parts and look some where else. Why not get a complete engine

im guessing your referring to the brand of the crank/rods mustanglover? are there cheap chinese ebay style knockoffs out there? i know there are some aluminum heads you can buy that are cheap crap ripoff castings
I might just end up buying a 408 stroker kit and have a local shop install everything. I found this one. What do you guys think about the kit, xtras, and price? I want to get about 400rwhp. daily driver! http://www.fordstrokers.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=121
balancing makes the engine run smooth no shaking. It can also make a difference in thottle responce. If its not balanced it will vibrate you to death and every not and bolt will fall out.

lol. That sounds horrible, I will definently have it balanced. In the meantime, Im goin to keep looking at kits and hopefully by the end of this week I will order a kit! Ohh, I almost forgot! Do all 408 stroker kits run on pump gas?
Balancing is done by taking the weights of the pistons, rings, locks, rods and rod baerings and with a formala come up with a bob weight which is put on the rod journals and spon on a balancing machine which tells the operator how nuch embalance there is. Then he would ether drill or grind that off and do it again untell the embalance is less than the weight of a penny.

to whoever answers that, its allright to put regular gas in my 66 i6 right?
thats what ive been doing, and with gas prices as high as they are, i cant pay for premium at the wages im getting......
the type of gas you have to run will depend on your compression ratio as long as you stay below 11 to 1 premium will be fine. and for the I6 the cheap stuff is fine as long as there is no knocking or pinging or detenation I have a stock 302 and am running the cheap stuff for the same resson

Being able to run available pump gas at any given Compression Ratio also depends on your head material (aluminum heads permit a half a point to maybe as much as a full point higher C.R. than iron heads will), your ignition timing and advance curves, cam timing (slightly "longer" cams can actually help here), and what the octane actually is in your area (I'm not at all sure that 93 octane is available everywhere).

This is what they emailed me back. What do you think?
- "Probe pistons as mentioned, dana corp perfect circle rings with moly top ring as provided by probe, rods and crank are the same as the eagle/scat stuff, but not machined in their house (rpm is the brand). We can put whatever you want in whatever you want block......the price just will change. Bearings are clevite 77, cam bearings are king....thats about it."
I paid $3100 for my 408 stroker. Eagle Crank, Eagle Rods, JE Pistons, forged everthing, comp cam, etc... I have crappy heads and I made 347 rwhp and 450 lbs of torque with a small cam that had a flat lobe. I'm sure with my new (bigger) cam I'm making 400hp. My compression ratio is 10.1 to 1, and I use premium octane at the pump. By the way, make sure you get a 9" rear end... I just blew my 8" apart racing a Prolwer.
