I have never in my life, have I received an A$$ BEATING like that in my life. I am not going into details, cause I might get watery eyes!!! To make along story short, when I talked to the guy, he was running twin turbos and dynoed over 425 fwhp!!!! I am sorry I let us down. Now maybe, my wife will let me get a nice turbo or S/C????
What's there to be sorry about?? You got beaten by a faster car.... now if it were a STOCK Gti you'd have your ass beat
Similar thing happened to me when I pulled up next to a what I thought to be stock G35. He killed me by at least 3 car lengths from a 20 roll. Turns out he had a turbo and my friend claims the guy put down 460 rwhp on a dyno.

i came from an 06 gti i traded it in for an 07 mustang gt and let me tell u it may not b as fast as us but they are quick for wut they r u guys say its such a little car but it weighs only 300 pounds less than a gt and it has 100 hp less and i bet in a quarter mile any stock gt will only put about 3 car lengths on a gti and byt the way u cant compare confort and luxury dont get me wrong i love my stang and would never go back but the gti had 100 times more room way nicer interior and was way better on turns so overall i wouldnt b surprised if a gti is better than a gt like i said i would never go back but the gti is a great car and they r real quik for wut they r
the fast audis are rare, friend has an RS, was only made one year, with an auto and twin turbos. Most audis are easily whooped and the drivers are usually yuppies, love to embarrass these guys

Nope, raced an '06 Jetta 2.0T and with me at a standstill and him approaching from behind accelerating, I put about 4 cars lengths in about 500ft(Yuppie Dude was very PO'd). I think because of it's smaller dimensions, more upright seating position and more communicative steering it feels like it handles better, but a GT with factory 18"s will pull .89g, doubt a V-Dub can match that on factory rubber. My ex has a MK IV 1.8T and it's okay, but I wouldn't buy one(she paid $22,000 in 2001 for it) and I'm not sold on the MK V's looks(looks like a Focus), but then again, V-Dubs are bought most by the Gay/Lesbian community according to several publications, so maybe us Cro-Magnon men/women will stick to our primitive devices
I bet that guy would even take me, so don't get too down on yourself about it. I have found out real quick, to never underestimate anyone who wants to pick a fight. Although, I do have fun with all the STI's out here that think they can take me... hahaa Those guys pissed me off so much when I was stock... paybacks a bitch!

I'm not at all surprised, since I previously owned a Golf 1.8T. It was 'chipped' (you had to take the computor out of the car, Fed-Ex it to a tuner, then reinstall it a few days later) and had the usual CAI/exhaust mods. It was amazingly quick off the line, mostly because the torque was so high at a low (1800-2000) rpm. Don't get me wrong, I'll still take the stang any day. Unless of course the weather is crappy, then I'll take the Passat 1.8T parked next to it in the garage!
