Default Motive Ring/Pinion for 05 ?

Does anyone know for sure if the current 8.8" ring and pinion gears offered by Ford as well as others such as Motive, will work in the 05 read end ? I would like to order some 4.10 gears next week, but need some feedback first.

Yup. You better get youreself a steep set of gears, because even with 3.55's that thing is a slug. I'd say 4.10's or MORE

3.55 fro Std Trx, the Auto uses 3.23/3.31 (or some lower number like that)

I spoke with Ford Racing - they ARE the same. So I have order some 4.10 Motive Gears and install kit.

I have an AUTO so once they are in, I will update everyone on the ride after install.

I just got back from the shop where I had 4.10 installed on my 2005 GT / Auto. It made a huge performance gain as well as off the line performance.

How is it off the line? I have already been thinking about swaping in 4:10's. 5th gear is just too deep for my liking.

Off the line, the stock GT with an Auto now puts you back. The shift from 1st to 2nd is very quick - and when it does - it shifts hard everytime. When you hit second, you stay about 4000rpm and hit 6000 very quick. I will be running it harder today to get a better feel.

But from what I can tell, the RPM Range is Perfect for these gears.

Note: On the highway, I was driving at 65mph and 2000 RPM in OD. Not too bad for 4.10 gears
