Default Wierd light near shifter

I have a 99 V6 stang I bought back in august and there is this light near my gear selector (its an auto) that I am able to turn on and off

its aftermarket whatever it is. find the wires and look to see where they go. do you have an alarm?

thats possible. it could just be a fake alarm warning light that you can turn on at night when you leave your car. totaly pointless if it is though.

Did you buy the car privately (sp)?
Because I would call and find out, and if it was from a dealer, have them get you the number for the previous owner if that is allowed (that it doesn't violate security issues or something).

Alright goo sugestions i dont think is TC and i can turn the light on an off
its the stock alarm system so i dont think its a new alarm

Have you noticed anything abnormal/different or better about the auto's shifts etc...?

No not really but you can turn the light off and when you are in drive so I dunno. i didnt reall compare light on with light of ill test that out, and i dont see anything under the hood
