ok i got a 90'lx automatic convert. i've heard this is the slowest 5.0 made, but its what i wanted, here's what i got, 3.55 gears, straight piped, stock headers, shift kit, k&n filter, and a chip, now what kind of times can i expect from it roughly? and what are some things i can do now that wont cost too much?

if u bought just the drop in replacement k&n i would get a reat cold air intake. i would also finish your exhaust system with a set of headers. u can start playing with your fuel system, but aside frome that i would start doin suspension upgrades so u can launch better. have fun with the car and let me know if i helped at all.
yeah actually i think the next thing i was gunna order were subframe connectors and upper and lower control arms, am i on the right track there? and yeah its just a dropin replacement k&n, you think i should go to a cone?

Cool, another AOD convertible guy! I thought I was alone out there. I would not go any larger than a 150 shot on a stock motor or any street use engine for that matter. Anything more than that you will have to retard timing and run ultra premium fuel (100+octane). Plus a fairly stock 5.0 motor with 150hp of nitrous equates to 450+lb feet of torque. Unless you have the traction forget about needing more power. Your AOD should hold up ok but definitely go with a shift improver kit and a higher stall NON Lock up converter. The weak link on AOD's is that lock up input shaft that engages in 3rd gear. Avoiding that should allow it to live a bit longer.
