Default Upgrade To Stock Headlights

OK. I have decided not to get the Halo lights.

After reading all the comments (and agreeing at times with both sides) I will be sticking, for now, with the stock lights.

OK, here's the rub: The stock lights, well, SUCK.

Pure and simple.

When I got my pony, they were the first things I went back to the dealer for.

The shone about 30 ft in front of the car and the High beams flagged down passing alien spacecraft!

1 Dealer readjust later, lows about right for 40MPH, highs still shooting squirrels out of trees and illuminating every house number on both sides of the street!

What gives?

There is no increase in distance between high and low, just MORE light and wider.

Why is the light pattern so WIDE and TALL, not narrow and deep?

Don't get me wrong it's great for hills... but I do lots of highway driving and using the high beams, people on SIDESTREETS flash me!

Ideas for horizontal / distance adjust?

New lights (rice or non-rice) that might help for distance?

I don't mind adding GT lights, but I'd rather get the primary 2 working efficiently!

Thanks

SOHC

I completely agree. The stang low beams are horrible. You need to bite the bullet and get the HID's.

I haven't seen the light pattern of the HID's. I'd love to see a picture if you have one!

PS - Don't drive around town with your high-beams on???

Not in town, on the F'n HIGHWAY. It was partly a joke, but the highs shoot out the damn side for 100+ feet!

See the attached.

Note also thestock lights give off a yellow color beam...

And no, there are no street lights.

Not in town. Not on the highway.

Only 2 street lights between my house and the highway, one is actually IN someone's yard, not even near the street.

Everyone uses high beams or you can't see at night on the highway. Pitch black means you outdrive your low beams at 50MPH. How fast do you go on the highway?

I actually found a mid-way solution.

Sylvania Silverstars H13ST.

They give off a white light, not the yellow glow the stock bulbs put out.

Now the lows are more functional. (Look at the 2nd post above this. See the difference between the top 2 and the bottom 2 photos for brightness?)

I like the difference.
