My brother and I went down to the local cruise spot last night and we ran into an SRT. I just installed headers, catless down pipe,and a PCM in my bro's GTP and the difference is night and day- much faster. The SRT had a different wastegate, both cars had 2 people. We raced him from about a 40mph roll, he wouldn't go off the line. Also raced a SE-R Spec V and owned it.

Are those the only mods on the GTP? or has he done the pulley swap and stuff as well?

If so, I find it a little difficult to believe that he reeled in a SRT-4 from a roll.

Either way, nice kill. GTP's can be made awfully fast cars for just a little bit of money.

i would hope that you owned the SE-r...its a mid 15 second car...

Yup, still has the stock pulley, with a 3.4" waiting to go on next week. Oh, and it has a K&N panel [8D] You'll see in the vid how it went and there's a 30-95mph speedo shot in it as well to give you an idea what it moves out like.

It's rated at 240hp stock, they usually dyno 195-200hp at the wheels stock

I know SRTs dyno higher- around 230whp stock. The headers didn't do much because it's still running the stock pulley, maybe 10 hp, but the PCM is what made the biggest difference. The shift points went way up, and it shifts much harder (sometimes chirps second). Did you watch the vid?

i just watched the vid on my space, srt pulled out by about a car if that and the gtp ended up pulling him back to about a car or so lead at 100.

i didnt make my point well...i was pointing out that the srt makes at least similar power..if not better...when he said that the gtp makes 200whp... technically, a car that makes 230whp, still DOES make 200whp..:D

i agree...the GTPs are a pretty good platform for modding...i have seen the intense turbo GTP run a few times..in the deep 10s...

Haha my song is really old and I usually stop people's music anyway. I'll have to post up another vid I have. It's vs a different black SRT when the GTP was stock.

the only thing that sucks about them is their crappy trans, I am afraid to do anything to mine because I don't want to replace the damn transmission, anyways nice kill GTP all the way!!!:D

It's a mail order tune from ZZPerformance.com. It's tuned for the 3.4" pulley, which isn't on yet, so it's probably not running as well as it could be.

One of the stock wheels has a flat tire, those are borrowed wheels. They are really shiny when they're clean though, but yes they look like $hit.

haha don't worry, not all GTPs are going to pull on SRTs from a roll. But all they need is $600 in mods lol.
