So, I have an 01 Cobra that likes to hop around when I jump on the throttle really hard and/or spin the tires. Basically, whether I am simply accelerating a little hard and getting minimal spin or dumping the clutch to put on a show, the rear tires will hop and jump like crazy. They will not hop and jump however if I am doing a donut. This condition is the same whether or not the traction control is engaged.
The Ford shop just completely rebuilt the internals of the rear-end. Any idea what is causing this, or is this a design flaw?

I don't know if this will help since my cobra is an 03. My friend replaced the rear bushings with some polyurathane ones and said that fixed the problem. The fix was cheap but the labor was hell including removing all the exhaust.

I have a 99 cobra w/ same issues. Replace pinion support bushings with Steeda poly urethane(the exhaust does NOT need to be removed ) apporox 15 min job. Also a higher spring rate makes a dramatic difference( means lower the car)
may cause our boy here can't drive and is a show off...dounuts and reving it up and dropping the clutch for a show......these people don't deserve a corbra!!!!!!!!!!!!
they need a 2.3
