I was talking to one of the best buy installers a couple days ago and he said that some of the In-Dash DVD Player Manufaturers have set it up with this 10 step process you have to do in order to get the DVD player to work. E-Brake up/down, brake twice, etc etc. Is there an easier way to get around this kind of BS?
I know you can install a switch or bypass it altogether, but is there anyway to eliminate the 10 step process you have to do as well? He said that Alpine Double Din DVD Players were easier to bypass than some of the others, but if possible, I'd like to avoid the whole 10 step process with the brakes.
Any suggestions?

I read somewhere that there is a wire that hooks up to something that is connected to the ebrake signal. All you need to do is wire that to a different remote, as if you were wiring your subwoofers remote wire to know to power on. I think that this works with most dvd players but research it and double check. Whatmodel are you looking to hook up??

Cool. I don't plan on getting the unit at best buy, that was just the one that seems to be recommended so far. I found it for $615 on Ebay. Hopefully if I do that I won't have to do the 10 step process to watch a movie That really seems like a waste to me. But who knows. It may be the only option.
Eclipse makes a top notch peice of equipment. The stuff a little older is really nice, but the new stuff is still way better then most of what you find.
