I have had no problems(other than the air/fuel ratio) at all but I only have 2400 miles on the car. Used 2006 cars seems to be going for between $43000-48000+ depending on coupe/vert, options, mileage location etc. It would seem if it is brand new then $48-53ish might be the range but you need to be more specific as to what type of car(coupe/vert) and the options. Go to E-bay and check values as well.
its a white with black interior supercharged coupe as far as options only thing sales guy mentioned driving lamps chrome wheels and paneramic roof, guy from saleen sent me pics of what seems to be an identical car sent to pics to a memeber of the site assume he will post them tomorrow ,hope this helps its all the info i have right now and its new

Here are some pictures of a similar one that 70442 is considering (he sent them to me and I promised I'd post them!)

Get a new sales guy - there's no such thing as driving lights, and to call a window that looks straight up as Paneramic is just silly Those would be HID Headlights and Scenic Roof options. Also, since it is SC'd, at that price I would make sure it has the 14" Brake Upgrade or I would offer $2500 less so you can add those to it.
As for reliability, there are issues all over these boards with regards to the S197 Mustangs that you can read about. Most are Ford related and minor fixes (if your car even experiences them) - most are like Gremlins From what you will read in here, the Saleen tune is efficient at best but you can do much better with a custom tune such as the JDM kit.
As for Performance, how can it get much better than a collectible Mustang with 435hp for under $50K But you will have to pay close attention to where you drive and where you park. It is VERY easy to scrape up the front air damn. Go slowly and at an angle up driveway curbs, and always park backward into parking spots with the concrete stoppers!

so what i am getting from you is that mid 40's would be a good offer?

Assuming it is still new and untitled, mid 40's for a 2006 S-281 SC Coupe w/Scenic Roof would be a killer deal IMO considering a base S-281 has an MSRP of around 45k That might be a stretch though but it doesn't hurt to try. Again as Jonesy said 48-53 would be reasonable, especially if it has the 14" brake upgrade already (most SC's do)
You never said - what is the sticker on the actual car in question and what are they TRYING to get out of it I would not pay MSRP for a "closeout" 2006 model - it should be a nice deal below MSRP. Heck, I paid close to $5k under MSRP for mine and that was EARLY in 2005 when the Mustang in general was going like crazy with bumps over sticker
Good luck - and assuming you end up with one, ENJOY
i wont disagree its a decent price, but it doesn't seem to be an i want this car gone price as the salesman and the guy from saleen both expressed was the case, am i correct in this assesment opinions please

Its pretty close to they want it gone imo. Push a little harder and find out. Just remember if you grind the guy into the ground he is most likely not going to go above and beyond to help you.

I've read this quote 4 times now and I have no clue what you are saying/asking. Maybe I just have too much happening here at work and can't concentrate. Can anyone else decipher what he is saying?
I wouldn't give that for it. They had a new 06 S/C coupe on Ebay 3 months or so ago that was fully loaded, all options except scenic roof that only brought 48K.
I bought mine in 06 (regular coupe) with every option except roof and I paid 40K out the door. Mine stickered at almost 49K.
Deals are out there, and you are working on a car that is technically a year old now.
I don't buy into the "they don't discount Saleens" BS. With all the new competition out there, dealers have no way to justify asking sticker for these cars anymore. Thats why you can still find 06's sitting on the lots.
