honestly didn't start out looking for a scenic/paneramic roof car but dont mind it either is there a downside to it?
You might think twice about the panoramic roof if you live in a hot climate. That sun is going to beat down into your interior. I live in TX, have a regular roof and very dark windows, and she still cooks in there during the summer. So much so that I'm going to have to change out the metal shift knob to avoid scorching my hand (Who was the rocket scientist who came up with that knob in the first place?).
BTW I agree with the comments re: price. It may be an untitled car but it is a year old in terms of what's left on the warranty and the NADA value.
We can't make the decision for you. When all's said and done, trust your gut. Regardless of the price, it's not a good deal unless it's really what you want. These are limited edition cars and you WILL encounter glitches, often exascerbated by incompetent dealers when repairs are needed. If you want a "perfect" car with no chances of hassle and frustration (and also no personality), don't buy a Saleen. These girls can be high maintenance!
10k off msrp is a good deal since you rarely find new/untitled Saleens discounted. I think I paid about 3k-4k off msrp for mine last summer.
My only comment is be absolutely certain you want that roof option. Otherwise pass.

there is a downside to it in that the sun shines directly through the glass and can make the car really hot. you can get it tinted a little more....but if you do that...what's the point in getting a panoramic roof in the first place? might as well get a convertible then.
it's obviously a little harder to keep clean as any dirt or blemish will show on it....but i don't know if that's a concern or not.

i agree with views on the roof and as far as price i wont pay that because i think its high and the car is not exactly what i want i hate those wheels but if they give me a price i like i will order the wheels i like from saleen and be more than happy but i came here to see if my views on price where out of line and they maybe bit as stated its prolly least a year old and will need some mods to be exactly what i want
There's a nice '06 3-valve speedster 'vert on my local lot. Wish you'd take it before somebody around here gets it. It's identical to mine except it's a manual. (I want it to go away because having a "twin" in town would be like two girls wearing the same dress to the prom!) I liked it a lot but didn't want manual (I know, I know). It didn't occur to me until later that I should have at least ordered a different color from the one here in town. Their website says $54,871 MSRP, asking $49,876, but we all know that wouldn't stick...

I wouldn't pay 50+ thousand for that car. I think with the scenic roof on those cars go for a little more ( correct me if I'm wrong guys ) but my car stickered at 54,000. The dealer had an internet sale of 49,999 and at that time ford was giving 1500 cash back to all mustang GT's. Well the Saleen fell into that category so check that out. Also if your military check with the dealer they might give 200-500 dollars off as well. So for a brand new 06 Saleen S/C I paid around 47,000. I purchased my car in Parma, Ohio at Bob ghillingham ford. They had a bunch of Saleen's up there for a decent price brand new and not a closeout sale. A good price for an 06 S/C is probably 46-48000.

BTW the70442, are you set on the new body style Saleens or are you open to the past 99-04 body cars? Skillman Ford over here in Greenwood has a nice low mile Saleen Rep car they've been trying to sell for over a year. I bet it could be had at a nice price. It is a 2004 S-281 SC Vert in black. Not sure if it has the speedster package or not, but when I looked at it September it was in showroom condition. Let me know if you are interested and I can get you in touch with the Saleen guru over there.
Also - is your screen name by chance in reference to the ultra cool Olds Hurst 442's?!

and yes that would be refering to an olds 442 the 70 version was my first car (legally driven) car i should say lol,but the hurst is a different model that was not offered in 1970 it was replaced with the rallye 350 for 70 only
