The Key word is "public". If there is a chance you could endanger law abiding citzens it would be irresponsible and stupid.

Did some street racing when I was a knothead teenager, but not anymore. Not only is it against the law, but can be and is dangerous. One wrong turn of the wheel and you can end up head-on into a tree or on-coming traffic. I also did some closed-course road racing and actually had more fun at it. The best type of racing is against the clock and not another car. Rallying, IMHO is also a test ofcar and driver. Rallying is not an all-out, b*lls to the wall, burn your hair off type of event. It is more of test of the not only the car, but the driver and navigator as well. Just wish I could find some around here.

street racing is for ricers who think that they have a fast car...i prefer to just cruise in my classic. nice and slow, you know, to let everyone get a good look [8D]

mustang dad,

I have always wondered why rallying isn't popular in the states, great motor sport have seen the british rally some years back in the forests of wales very exciting and a true test of a driver, car, navigator and mechanics.
