If you run a 13.1 in an 03-04 Cobra, the you cant drive.

if u can read my post it says "they say the 03 cobra runs 13.1 stock" they doesnt mean me...it means like motor trend magazine, and all them other crappy magazines.... i actually ran a 12.48@113 my first time ever at the track with just a cat back so... sorry buddy i can drive... i only have 5 modifications done to my car... less then $1500 spent and im running consistent 11.46-11.50@ 119, 120mph....

Pretty impressive. It's so easy to modify a forced induction car. I'm also guessing you didn't throw tires in on the list? You ran that on stock rubber?

So you ran the 11.46 on DR's. That's what I was figuring. Still, impressive.

I wish that car was just cheaper, I might would have bought one. Being a college kid sucks.

What all do you have to do to an Fbody to get it to run 11.4? Not flaming, just asking.

Get a set of DR's, full exhaust, and a small shot of gas. Not really too expensive if you use the juice. Least expensive way, get a 150 shot of gas and some DR's. Also, learn to drive like a SOB.

The more common way. Full bolt-ons ($2000) and a cam ($300).

wow... so the cobra is definetly the way to go in the end then. My roommate finally broke 13's. He ran a 13.8 last weekend in the WS6.

Unless you like N2o, yes.

Haha, sad. Get him an auto, PLEASE!

Ya, any forced induction car is going to be easier to make more power with than an N/A car. The Cobra is the best route if you can spend $30k on a car, which really isn't all that bad. I got my LS1 for $21k less though. It just depends on your status. Being in school and 20 years old, a $30k car is not what I need right now.

I bought my car for $15,500 and so far put about $4000 into it and still hanging with or beating the $28000 Mach1! LOL When I get the tires and control arms and gears... it will be all over.

That's why I bought my headers and exhaust, you're getting to LS1 country...

My LS1 was $9,200 not counting taxes and title. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

LOL.. I was refering to brand new prices. The GT goes for about $25,000 where the Trans AM and SS's do for about $36000 brand new... well while they were still in production that is.

Dood, if anyone paid that much for a TA/Z28 or a WS6/SS they were on something. You could get a stripper Z28 for under $20k and a full loaded SS for under $30k. Holy hell, that's outrageous.

Well when I was in Iraq I was pricing a WS6 online (just before they went out of production) and I got it LOADED. Everything I wanted would have cost me $42,000. That was ordered form straight from GM. I was like WTF?!?! I could buy a Vette with 5000 miles on it for that.

Saleengtroush i would be careful on what you say about motor trend. for one the cobra listed in there does a 1/4 in 12.4 last time i checked. So yes the guy who had 13.1 can not drive. as for jdaniel if you ever picked up the best of tech mag they have a 2001 z28 running 10.93 with only headers,borla mufflers, bbk throttle body, granatelli MAF sensor, K&N cold air kit, a electric water pump, and bigger cam (roughly $1200 alltogether). of course it went on a diet with a weight reduction of 400 pounds which if you equate that into HP figures thats .4 seconds (for every 100 pounds thats 10 HP)so it would be 11.4 quarter then.So it ties the cobra. but think a z28 for $10000 plus $1200 for the same quarter as a cobra which is $30000? and that leaves plenty of money for a supercharger.

First off where did you attend math class, walmart or something? Headers and a catback alone on a damn ls1 is near $1200, let alone a decent cam, Electric water pump and the other goodies.

Your also forgeting the fully forged motor with the cobra, takes alot more abuse then some ls1 will. Camaro's are awesome cars dont get me wrong, I'd take one anyday but please don't start bashing when you have no clue what your talkin about.

Headers = $250
Catback = $200
TB and MAF = < $300
Lid = < $100
Cam = $300

So, he wasn't far off.

Pacesetter LT headers, TSP Rumbler catback, your choice TB and MAF, TSP lid, your choice cam.

Just in case you were wondering.

Why shouldn't it? The Cobra should be compared to other FI cars. It is afterall, FI. The Cobra is badass and blown...it should be compared to other blown cars. If it needs a blower to keep up, so be it.

It's the best bang for the buck b/c it's blown....any FI car is gonna be simple to make fast. It's already FI, how hard can it be....

Times and technology is changing and soon all sports cars will be going to the FI setup... espically turbo setups. Speed and power is what people want and thats the way to get it.
