well since i've flagged myself as the "five-o" (no pun intended)...go ahead and ask about your tickets, exhaust, emissions, whatever...i'll answer as truthfully as possible...

i don't know of a specific fine just for having nitrous...i've pulled over the rice boxes for that crap before and i've always found plenty of other things to write them for if need be. i know (at least in nj) you need cats and mufflers to pass emissions inspection.

How much is too much when it comes to being followed by a cop, especially if you are just kicking back and crusing, doing nothing wrong. If the cops that follow me saw what people do just to try and provoke me, they would get a lot more tickets written than just by following sporty cars.

yeah, unfortunately i get that too when i'm in my own 'stang. i hate it. sometimes i want to just blow the doors off the cop who is following me and have some fun. anyway, it sucks that it's annoying but there's not much you can do about it. cops have to have some type of probable cause to pull you over.

great question....i've had this happen a few times. i've gotten lucky once or twice and actually got both cars stopped, but usually the winner gets the ticket. i remember pulling this kid over in a pontiac grand prix last year (89mph in a 55) and just walking up to his car after he stopped, i said "you should have lost"... by the way...racing is a seperate charge from speeding and careless or reckless driving... 5 points for racing, 2 points for reckless/careless, and 2-5 points depending on how much over the speed limit

I have a perfect driving record and I got my first ticket on Valentines day this year. I have been driving for 9 years and my first ticket is 101.00 for driving withought headlights on. I pulled out of a bright mall parking lot and didn't notice it for about 2 blocks and then about another 2 blocks later after I turned my lights on I was pulled over and ticketed for it. I was wondering if officers really might give somone else a hard time if they have to work on a holliday.

me personally...i try not to do anything on holidays. some guys are pricks i guess. $101 is alot for no headlights...what state? your best chance is to fight it in court. wear a suit, explain your side of the story, and try to get the fine reduced.
More about street use of nitrous.. what is the the fine if you catch someone with a bottle attached & the valve is open etc.. Maybe you can nail the guy for racing etc but doesn't the addition of nitrous to the mix make the ticket any worse?
It seems there are always a few dozen guys here lining up to buy nitrous & most of them to use it purely for street use (they don't race at the track at all).. differente States have different rules I guess.. some guy from Tennessee said it's perfectly legal there(?)
Washington state in the city of Kirkland. Kirkland PD is are nice guys and some of them are my friends. As for steep I thought so but the ticket says operating a motor vehicle withought headlights on during darkness rcw 46.37.020. I will go to the court date and explain the circumstances. I guess he was having a bad day and I was a cheap thrill.
I have a 2000 Mustang GT that is lowered and has some modest mods. I often find that the police leave me alone.. my car is loud and definetly stands out. I usually drive over the speed limit (about 80mph on the interstate) and (60-65mph on the backroads). I had some problems in the past with reckless driving and actually lost my licence for a bit. My question is .. This is my first "american" car (besides trucks) and it has been a godsend compared to the cars I used to drive as far as police issues.. My other vechicles are a Turbo Mazda Rx-7 and a Honda CBR600.. I never have issues on teh bike but the Mazda Gets me pulled over all the time... Can you explain?

i've said this before...if you don't give them a reason to pull you over, they can't pull you over... i had my license suspended when i was younger for a bunch of speeding tickets. when i finally decided to stop speeding, i stopped getting pulled over. imagine that. when you get pulled over, they look up your driving history...if i see someone who has a bad record, i'm less likely to cut them slack.
i HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER OVER A FEW TIMES, FOR NO CATS, TINT, SPEEDING, ONCE RACING.... A LOT OF RANDOM THINGS BUT I HAVE YET TO EVER GET A TICKET. EVERYONE TELLS ME ITS BECAUSE IM A GIRL... BUT I DNT THINK THATS TRUE... DO YOU THINK ITS TRUE THAT SOME OFFICERS WONT WRITE A FEMALE A TICKET JUST BECAUSE THERE A FEMALE OR BECAUSE OF THERE LOOKS?
