yea im from baltimore MD and im undecided on O/R slp x-pipe or Catted slp x-pipe cuz of gettin pulled over i was thinking that maybe before my emissions i would jus take 20 mins and bolt the stock H-pipe back on would this be a stupid idea. cuz my car is gonna be pretty loud. and cop do you go down to wildwood during that big car show thing in the spring. i might go over there with my bullitt. maybe meet up. haha
yes...i go wildwood every year for the car show...there is a better one in the fall...stick with the cats
My freind is working on dropping a v8 into a Liberty, 2003, and he wants top know if he needs a 2003 or new engine to pass emissions, or if he can use an older one?

I am in NJ and I have a few questions...
Would you normally bother someone with tints on there car - 5% all around? Only the backs? Does it make the mustang more of a "cop magnet"?
i really wouldn't bother them...as far as i know the back window has to be 15% and the side windows can't be tinted (driver and passenger) the windshield can be tinted, but only four inches from the top.

Hes going to Wyotech and for a school project he want to try and put a 4.7L, like out of a dodge ram, into his liberty but people have told him in order to pass emissions he has to have an engine of that year (2003) or newer, you know if this is true?

wtf?
I think he's refering to one of those old emissions things that ban you from putting an older engine into a newer car. In other words, you couldn't put an 88 engine into a 95, but you could put a 96 engine into a 95. Of course, this can vary.
I never realzied how many cops were on this site. There's at least 5 of us that I have seen recently.

I'll step up for this one, lol. It is true here in Maine. But as always, i can't speak for other states. I have heard several other people talk about it from other states, and many states have laws that are quite similar to each other. so chances are, it will be true. They usualyl use some vague wording in the law that mentions emissions equipment and standards.

I dont really have a question, but I was just going to add that if there are a bunch of others with questions for cops, you should check out mach1registry.com. They have a HUGE thread like this one.

another NJ guy here.
what's the fine for no front plate?
and can they fine you if you have CA tags on your car?
yes, you can be fined for no front plate. if you are a NJ resident (resided in the state of NJ for 30 days), you are required to register your vehicle and change your address.

So if you pull over someone and they have tints on the side windows - $54 per offense, or do you have to prove that you took them off?

ok here's the secret to get out of your NJ window tint tickets...PAY ATTENTION!...in order for the ticket to hold up in court, the cop is supposed to used a Tint-meter to accurately measure the % of the tint. if you are in the know and well-spoken in court, you will win. and no, you only get one ticket.
I got hit at school by somone and he did $400 worth of damages. i havent told insurance in a couple of days. Do i have to do it within a 24 hour period, cause he says he wont pay. What are my options?
