Ok, I've got a question that I've been wondering about. What is the penalty for driving without cats (an O/R midpipe)? I know it probably varies state to state, but in general what is the penalty for such? Thanks

in NJ there is a state statute for "noisy muffler"...it is a $54 ticket you wouldn't necessarily get a ticket for no cats unless you failed state inspection (which is now done every two years). if you fail inspection in NJ, you get a nice red sticker on your windshield (a target for cops). "failure to inspect" or "failure to make repairs" are both $130 tickets. so it's not really that bad.

ORIGINAL: iowanine Is it illegal to have you headlights and taillight tinted or covered? The covers I have are both the same as in my sig. I do not know the tint of them though Because I know here in Texas you can not just run fogs only, that your parking lights have to be on as well with them, they can not be wired by themselves. I was just wondering, thanks. yes, it's illegal to cover or tint them both. your parking lights DO need to be on at the same time as your fogs...and your fogs and high beems cannot be on at the same time.
