My local shop quoted me a price for $1600 installed out the door for these mods:
-Billetflow or Reichard racing pulley set up
-Mafia
-SCT tuner with custom dyno tune(includes dyno time)
-Cold air kit
-New plugs
IS this worth it?

im gonna go ahead and say too expensive, but i have two questions and i might help u a little better:
1) have you bought the parts and thats 1600 in labor? or does that include the price of the parts?
and
2) whats a mafia? a MAF sensor? or am i missing something?

- Steeda MIL eliminators, < 500 miles on them.
- Cobra Front brakes/powerslot rotors
- Assembled Tumbleport DOHC heads
- P-1sc head unit/intercooler etc
That price includes the parts. The mafia is from diablo sport. Its called a MAF interface adapter. It keeps you from pegging your MAF because of the extra boost.

i would say thats right in the price range. I did my pullies and intake and stuff on my own and the price break down was something llike this
Pullies, billet flow 2.76 and 4 idelers set up with bracket- 400
jlt cold air intake- 225
sct xcalibrator tuner- 400
dyno tune/dyno time- 150 i got a really good rate on the dyno tune because i k ow the shop owner
total of 1,175 but i didnt get plugs of the mafia thing, paid no labor and got discounted dyno time which is ussually around 100-150 bucks an hour depending on where you go, and it takes about 2-3 hours of dyno time to tune a cobra based on expierience.
i would say if your not up for doing it yourself then go for it.
Thanks for the input! I feel comfortable doing most of it myself but these guys are awsome with Cobras so I fugure I spend a little more but I know for sure its being done right! I wqant to get them to throw in a steeda triax too!

actually its not a bad deal at all, i'll explain my reasoning through a break down:
200 for the pulleys
150 for the CAI
450 for the tuner
200 for the MAFia (which is interesting btw)
50 for the spark plugs
250 ish for dyno run (or more) plus tune
225 prorated labor
so my guess plus labor is right in there where it should be, so i would say go for it...when i first saw it i thought it was pure labor and was like, holy crap. Hope that helps some.

those are bullcrap mods for that price to me. No offense, its just like.. everyone gets a cobra and the first thing they post is "I'm gonna throw on pulies and a CAI and a throttlebody and a tuner and and and.."
And its lame. People buy into the misconception that your car suddenly gets a huge boost of power from these simple mods.
In essence (and alot of people will find this controversial if they havent already) the cobras TB and such are fine stock. The only reason people started making aftermarket TBs and such in the first place and marketing them so heavily was for the japanese tuner crowd who start off, with literally, sh-- stock parts.
Now Im not condeming those who have these mods, hell I have a CAI for my cobra, I'm just saying, IF these are the first mods your doing to your car, spend your money somewhere else. Take that 1600 and beef up your engine. These mods are minimal ones you should do AFTER your major ones are already taken care of.
Personally, if you dont have exhaust and headers, I'd get those.. OR buy some new meanass heads for your engine. Theres alot you can do for $1600 besides installing small hp gain bolt ons.
Its your car, and your preference, so who am I to tell you what to do? I'm merely throwing this out there for people to think about before they go bolt on crazy.
Also all those mods are wickid easy to do yourself if your mechanicially inclined. So if you are, save the money.
Again, please dont take offense, I'm not slamming you, or anyone. Merely provoking thought since I see threads like this alot.
