MY FORD MECHANIC SAID THE BATTERYS THAT FORD PUTS IN THEIR CARS ARE CHEAP AND THEY HAVE MANY PROBLEMS. I AM GONG TO INSTALL AN OPTIMA RED TOP. ANYBODY HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.

If you are trying to put it in a S197 be careful, the dimensions look good but our battteries have recessed terminals, there was another post which said the hood would not close right with the optima. Optima doesn't list a fit for the S197. I put in an Interstate MTP-40R. Great battery with more power. The blanket wouldn't fit so I left it off, the Interstate is a little longer. There are 2 little adapter blocks in the battery tray that come out to accomodate the longet battery. My 06 Motorcraft had a bad cell, I had underdrive puleys so I did it myself rather that letting my dealer tell me my pullies caused the problem.
