Not everyone can have a 9 second car. Even in the 1/8th. If ya built it or take care of it or even just like it. Be proud of what ya got. Just also realize someone is gonna point and laugh at ya no matter what you drive.

an 03 tib gt 6 speed runs a 15.3 stock a bran new 95 gt ran 15.2 from the factory. my car has 100k on it. i would have betten him by about 3 tenths due to my .040 bore and kn air filter. tibs are not slow compared to my car they are very close actually.

no s**t a tib is slow compared to much faster cars.

I just traded an '03 GT V6 for a Mach 1 today.  They are better than the first 2 gens, but still slow as hell.  Way too heavy for the 170hp V6 they have.  Buy this car for looks, as it is a great looker but not much else imho.

Does the "shaker" scoop really move that much? Vids I've seen don't impress me. I have also read that it doesn't improve performance that much. Since you now own one, is this true or just some C&D BS?

i saw it on car and driver tv...when you start up it shakes all crazy, but not much any other time that im aware of.  and nah, its just a gimmick.  just as effective as a CAI, maybe even less.  Ram Air and such really had far greater effects on carbeurated engines if im not mistaken.

Pretty much, but most injected cars also have some sort of system that pulls air from around the bumper or another cool high pressure area. Old cars wihtout Ram Air had just a breather on the carb and it was suckin hot air from the radiator and the rest of the engine compartment. A well balanced engine with decent mounts wont shake so much, but when ya stomp the gas it should lean over some.

so people don't ask me what I run.  And since I do have my actual time in my sig, wouldn't that mean that I KNOW my car isn't the fastest in the world?

I'm at college... all my timeslips (including the 14.97 one from January) are there, if I even have all of them left... I'll look for them next time I go home.  What, are you calling BS on me?  lol
