That's a good looking coupe. Take a regular picture of it that is not staged, and let's see how she really looks.
that wasnt staged really at all, just a picture snapped of it sitting on my front lawn. But here hows this, a pic of her sitting on the side of the road with a dead battery lol.
i actually like the snake on the hood of the king cobra, but not in the color of the one i showed the picture of. ive got most everything to rebuild the 2.3 4 banger in my dads 75 mach 1 "delete package" 4 speed car - larger stainless valves along with machine porting and an erson cam and balanced - should be a peppy fun thing to drive. then theres always the turbo option like they used in the early 80s on a few different cars...... could easily be made to mop the floor with Z28's and 5.0's
I dont think so.

But I generally like all mustangs. The mid 70s was trying for all vehicles. And I will get flamed for this, but somebody please give me a hemi cuda or challenger or Z 28 (69 that is ) anyday. I love my Mustangs and muscle cars . The more horsepower and torque the better.
Pattie, No one is going to flame you for liking other muscle cars. We all have our favorites but, anyone that cant appreciate other Classics is just ignorant.

daytona, you dont think a pepped up 2.3 can smoke a z28 or 5.0? we had my dads truck turbo rebuilt buy a local guy who does them in his garage (a NICE garage i should say, with all the proper tooling) and he had a couple turbo stangs. one had a damn intercooler from a small isuzu cube truck, he told us he spanked 5.0s on a regular basis with that.
im not saying a stock 2.3 turbo setup will mop the floor with V8's, but it doesnt take much to make those little things scream - the ministock racers spin them up to 9k rpms and they dont go BOOM
Do I think the average Joe can do it? well, No. Do I think it is a good idea? No. Can a person do it to prove a point? Yes. The question I think you half to ask your self is ... Why? When you factor in the cost to build the 2.3 and make it really run, IMHO you could build a small block that would not only run a whole lot better it would look and sound better as well. And dont forget resale down the road, you might want to recoop your investment.
This is just my humble opinion, Nick

For me, the Mustangs that I appreciate less are specifically the overstyled Fox GT version and the "softer/heavier" '71 - '73's. For the Fox, give me the lighter LX with the same powertrain and suspension bits (mods?) any day.
I rather like the new ones, but truth be told, that's tempered with some disappointment over the increases in wheelbase and weight that came with the chassis improvements.
I'll step up and defend the Mustang II, though. Not crazy about the notchback/sedan/whatever, but the fastback was pretty neat. A better suspension than it's given credit for, at least in a short wheelbase/narrow track car. And there's nothing about the anemic OE powertrain that a little creativity couldn't fix. IIRC, one of the first "Pro-Street" cars was a M II with something huge (500+?) under the hood.
Full disclosure: I owned a Pinto about 30 - 35 years ago, and with only a little bit of work the little car would hold its own against cars of far more sporting image on either an autocross course or running down back country roads. Including the dirt roads. I think that if Ford has built the Mustang II from any other then-existing platform they'd have changed the whole character of the Mustang name and it would have eventually gone the way of Mercury's Cougar.
I was in high school in the mid 70s....fun time for hot cars, not a one of them was a II It was so nice to see the Stangs recover, I've now had four of them since the 80s and loved them all.
