Hey, lets not get carried away here, this is not a bashing thread, I never said Mustang IIs should be destroyed or anything, I just don't dig their bodies, that's all, it's not like I'm calling people ugly, I'm calling a CAR/INANIMATE object...UGLY.

For me, Id have to say I like the mustangII the least out of any mustang. Followed closly by the 71-73's. Although I will admit that, that red cobra 2 did look pretty sweet. As for the 71-73's, they were just too damn big.
Someone requested hp figures for teh '78 stangII - it was 149hp. My first car was a '79 Mustang Ghia Sport, it had the identical drivetrain, it was 2bbl (some carter POS), 4spd (SROD), with something horrible like a 2.73 or 3.08 rear end, and single exhaust .  Slower than hell. putting on duals gave it something like 20-30hp (im not kidding it was that noticable).
I do like the '79-82's not my fav but the pace car and the 82GT did look pretty sweet. And BTW, ford didnt install 302's in 80 or 81, they instead put a 255 v-8 .  As for my fav well thats easy 69/70 fastbacks.
-P.

My family has always liked Mustangs. We've had '66 , '73 , '79, '86 Totally skipped over the II's, could not get over the body style and bumpers. I guess the '94 - '98 would be another year I could live without, kind of too bubbley for me.

Actually I consider my car more like a girlfriend, and she can be a bit bitchy at times.

For me anything over the 66 was too big and the stang II was getting back to basics of what a pony car should be. It just happerned to occur at the same time as the 70's oil crisis would they make the II without the oil crisis debatable but is the unloved II better than it reputation for sure. A pony car should be about decent 1/4miles and decent handling going fast in a straight line is boring

well im a ford man through and through, i will always drive ford product and my father always has.  I have to say that when i get older im gonna buy a civic, they are great Virtually Torqueless Economy Cars.  But still the mustang is a legend, it would be like asking a chevy man what year camaro he hates.  but all the same, I would love to own all year mustangs like someone said, its just that i prefer other years more.  oh yea and to the hemi cuda statement, driving the cuda down the road wouldnt be bad cause thats all ur gonna get out of it since u cant go far in a mopar.  and for u chevy guys c my sig

love my big boat:P hehe ..but!! i only like the mach 1's of 71 to 73..the grande's are not my cup of tea..lol..fast back guy all the way...they mite look big..but they ride nice..corner great..and very light for there size...and can handle the big boy motors and still be able to work on it..lol..71 boss 351 13.9 in the quarter on 330 horse...took a 429 in 69 stang to run that fast in the quarter stock :).....60's stangs got more of a full frame than a 71 to 73 unibody...they do get a bad rap...but mine gets great looks..and some one is allways tring to buy it from me when i fill up at the gas station...lol

i like them all..the 80's 5.0 cheese box is my least fav..the king cobra's look great...but the standerd coupe 74 is not a car i would desire..lol..but i have to say..in just about every year of stang there is a decked out version that looks great to me:)

i don't want to start anything but if you have a 1969 coupe, now the fast back is a whole different thing

the mustang II is by far my most hated mustang and who said that 69 coupes cant be pretty?

That's a good looking coupe.  Take a regular picture of it that is not staged, and let's see how she really looks.

agreed, damn them fox bodies they seriously lack in the sporty styling department. i'll even agree that the coupe II's weren't pretty, but then again I always liked the fastback/hatchbacks better anyways.
