i test drove both a 3.4L 1997 camaro and then my 2001 3.8L mustang...the mustang felt better and since my family has been a ford family, i felt like a traitor in that chebby  it also ran like it had been threw off a cliff; i dont the 3.4L are any good but the 4.3L are pretty nice

It could not have been a 1997.  The 1996+ came with the 3.8L.

The guy who had the 306, aluminum headed, nitroused, C4'ed, big stalled, slicked Foxbody couldn't get the title fast enough.

camaro's didn't exist when i was buying, i wanted to buy new, not someone else's abused/neglected pos.  my only regret: not buying a cobra or mach instead.

The camaro is a pos.  The ls1 is a solid motor.  It was a pretty easy decision, having always owned a Mustang since I got my license, and with the huge improvements of this new model.

I've never even been in a newer Camaro, at least not an LS1.  I've been in a few LT1's and they were decently nice, at least for what they are.  I know my TA was nicer than any of the Camaro's and all the Mustang's I've ever sat in, including two s197 body style V6's that a couple of my friends have.  I was figuring the GT's had pretty much the same interior....

As far as everything else goes, my car outperforms all the GT's in every category stock for stock.  I don't see how the Maro's are POS's...?

Yall call the Camaro's barbie cars...?  That's odd considering females buy the most Mustangs....v6 Mustangs.

I am torn between a Mac and a PC.  I think I will go to a Mac forum and ask for opinions.

MrRogers - we've had our run-ins and I know you are a solid dude, but if you think asking people from the Street and Strip section of Mustang Forums their opinion on whether to buy a Camaro or a Mustnag is "solid market reserach", then you have been sucking a crack pipe while hitting your head with a hammer.

Theres nothing wrong with getting information about particular car from people who own them over the internet. The forums are a great way to interact and share thoughts and ideas.  I would trust the guys in here before some cheesy ass car salesman any day. All the dealerships want to do is sell you whatever they can. So I support, no...I encourage people to ask questions about vehicles purchases. You might learn something before you get stuck with a 4 year deal. But atleast everyone added their opinions and not some smart ass childish coment. I won't call out names.

Sorry - couldn't resist.

Obviously, but why?  I can understand not liking a car, but at least give a reason to.

Can't be the interior, motor, or suspension.

interior on a camaro is pretty much crap. no use arguing.  subjective.

exterior, ahh yes, sleek GT vs a wedge.  again, no use arguing since its subjective, but my personal view is that camaro's look like giant turds born onto this world just to offend me personally.  you may think the same of mustangs, you are wrong of course, i have proof.

engine?  how do you figure?  just power output?  not everyone lives to race believe it or not.

suspension.  true, mustangs don't handle so good stock, not like camaro's are corner carvers stock.  who the hell buys either of these cars for handling?  kill yourself if you did.

Well, not a lot to argue with.  Everything is your opinion....I've seen a ton of Camaro's that look flat out amazing.  Any stock SS does for that matter...

BTW, who buys a pony car not to race?

Where's the mullet?  That one looks OK if he took the stripes off.  I hate stripes on any car and the Camaros only look decent in black and sometimes red.

You're dillusional if you think the interior on the F-bodies are better.  I don't know if the Firebirds/TAs are any different but the Camaros interior is a complete piece of ****.  Both the F-bodies and the Mustang are pure plastic on the inside but the Mustang feels way more solid and put together.  The Camaros plastic is always falling apart and it feels so damn cheap.

Eh...the TA's are supposedly the luxory editions of the f-bods.  Honestly, I could give two ****s less.  I'd run my **** with a bucket for the seat and in primer w/o a radio or anything else...as long as it's fast, I don't care.  To each his own I guess.
