Just flipping through my autoweek and caught a title that sparked my interest. 601 HP in a 2004 Cobra from FORD. It cost Ford $14,000 more then the sticker to do it, but man thats cool. Anyone know if thats is actually a special option??? Looks like the 4.6 isnt a weight bucket as everyone seems to always think. Seems you just have to tune it right....and have a nice chunk of change on the side.

I agree with Steed. Hell, you can get a GT up to those numbers with that much money. Is that 601hp at the wheels? Now that would be impressive no matter how you look at it.
that is very impressive but gosh you can get a 5.0 or a 5.8 up to them numbers a lot cheaper then 14 grand well if you read it they added suspension and wheels to I am sure they included all that in the total price.
Wow! I'd love to have one...$14000 sounds high, you can do it yourself for MUCH less.
I was gonna say the EXACT same thing. A different blower pully, good exhaust and an awsome tune and you will be damn close to 550-600 hp in one of those. Some car show on the spike channel put $800 into one to include a tune with a diablo and an different pully and they pulled 500hp out of it. Im sure 600 wouldnt be that much harder to obtain.

They put a twin screw on that car. I have no doubt that the "11.(" they post can be bettered with a new pully and some drag radials.
A twin screw should be capable of 650 or more RWHP.
But, for 14k you could have a ATI setup with full boltons and cams. Hell you would still have room for a stouter bottom end if you really wanted it.
