Starting with the current SVT Cobra (in this case an ’03 model) with a base price of $33,125, the Ford Racing/SVT partners propose adding nearly $14,000 worth of parts highlighted by a twin-screw supercharger, SVT Cobra R suspension mods and brake kit, and 18-inch chrome wheels.
This quote from the article says that the forde racing/SVT partners have proposed this as an option, so for now it must just be a concept.
Did anyone else notice the article at the bottom of the page that was about the 07 cobra? Click on the link and there is an unpainted picture of one in Florida. That hood is wicked.
Just flipping through my autoweek and caught a title that sparked my interest. 601 HP in a 2004 Cobra from FORD. It cost Ford $14,000 more then the sticker to do it, but man thats cool. Anyone know if thats is actually a special option??? Looks like the 4.6 isnt a weight bucket as everyone seems to always think. Seems you just have to tune it right....and have a nice chunk of change on the side.
14000 bucks for an extra 210 horses?
just read the other post explaining it as well, that includes suspension and rims... still tons o money.

Hp doesnt have anything to do with weight. A 4.6 has to make 600hp to keep up with a 400hp 5.0 (aprox.)

Kenne Bell's in house project Cobra got >700rwhp with just their blower, boot a pump, and a killer tune. SVT's web site says nothing about a joint offer for the 04 Cobra. I placed an order for mine in 11-03, delivery was supposed to be on 5-04. It got bumped up to 3-04, because they finished production in that same month. So I doubt that SVT or FR really has any kind of performance deal on the 04, except the Power Lease, which has nothing to do with modifying the car.
Yea i defnitaly feel the 4.6 liter is a weight bucket-and always will be. I have an uncle who has been dragging since before the first mustang was built and has been buying from jegs and summit catalog for so long he gets a discount that would make your most conveted connections to cars seem like your getting robbed. He pulled 650 HP from a destroked 305 to a 289 SB and of course went 9 seconds flat. I dont know how he did those numbers but he even said himself on the 4.6 liter, its to many moving parts and not enough knowlegde on how to make them all work faster. The "modular motor" (is that really what they call a motor they put in a muscle car....modular? as in high tech? Muscles and high tech dont work, or bill gates would also be a GREAT body builder) is an expensive motor to mod, limitless budgets aside. I rode in an 04 cobra and an 01 gt that was modded heavily (all boltons cept heads and super) and they were very impressive and of course i enjoyed the ride. But i could feel when ever they stepped on the gas that yea, its was loud and cool but it felt refined, like Benz HP. I couldnt feel half the rumble i felt in my 5.0 yet the motor clearly had more HP. My uncle has spoken to many reprsenitives of edlebrock and other companys at drag meets and when i was looking into a new mustang and they said to find an old, well kept 5.0 instead. Its a well known fact theres no replacment for displacement and the bigger motor will alaways win, regaurd less of who makes more HP from factory.
P.S. If my unlce seem imaginary go to the english town NJ website and look for a racer named Joe Greek or Joe Cockinos, he runs an s-10 that runs in the twelves.(Chebbys are cheaper to build for racing)
