Here's a discussion for us vert owners.

Do you like the look of the light bar/roll bar on our cars?

I personally don't. I remember the first time I saw one a few years back on a heavily modded car, I thought to myself, hot car but that roll bar has got to go. And I still feel the same way to the point that the vert in my sig, that I recently bought, has a light bar and it's coming out soon as I pull the car out in the Spring.

The reason I don't like light bars is that they ruin the lines of the car, the profile (top down). There shouldn't be anything aft of the windshield when the top is down, just beautiful clean air. Same with sitting in the car, with the top down all I want above my head is blue sky or twinkling stars, not some dumb black bar inches above my skull.

I like them. Especially on saleens. Here is a pic of my car and myself with the lightbar.

I think they make the car look more muscular.

I guess i can understand someone not likeing them, but i don't understand how you could say it looks bad.....

I could like them, but to me the lines of the curve as viewed from the rear don't really match the curves of the rest of the car. I suppose they had to narrow the top of the curve a lot in order to let the top go up without hitting it.

They also make your rear seat even more useless than the rear seat in a vert Stang already are lol.

But for those issues, I don't mind them. I wouldn't buy one for my car but don't mind seeing them on other peoples stangs.

They look alright, but for track duty (talking lots of power here, 350+ rwhp) I'd rather use the money for a real roll bar/cage/whatever.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''re fast.

I love them!  If I wasn't afraid to loose what little visibility out the small side windows I'd have one tomorrow.

I don`t like them. I bought the `vert for the " open air " motoring aspect. If I want something behind my head while driving, I just take the targa top out of the `Vette, & drive it that day

Light bars don't look right to me.  But a roll bar looks ok, and if you have a car the actually needs one then I think you should have one.  If I was using my car for the track and running low times then I would have one.  Sucks that we need them long before hard tops, but the being able to put that top down is well worth it.

Personally I like the light bar/roll bar look.  But that is my opinion.  I dont think it takes away that much in the back and my back seat isnt used that often anyway.

I didn't like mine at first but my wife insisted on it and it sort of grows on you.

Not for rollover protection. You could crush most of them down by pushing your body weight on it

The Classic design concepts one i have is very high quality and u definetly could not crush it with body weight.

but no they do not protect you from rollover.
