So I was at my dealer lastnight, and my sales guy says to me- "hey, you wanna see something sweet? Follow me." So he takes me into the back and shows me a brand new Saleen with a special Parnelli Jones package. This might be old news.....I really don't know, i'm not big on the "search" button, but this car was SICK and I thought I would share a pic. I wish I would have got one of the back, because the exhaust was something to see. I guess the guy that bought it, was having it flatbedded to his residence and was very adamant about no stickers or plastic coverings be touched. Simply amazing. ----I think I got a picture before he did!

I just picked up a Motor Trend at Walmart about an hour ago because they were featuring the new Camaro Convertible for '09, and I happened to find an article on a concept Mustang as well. A few pages more into the mag, they featured the same car I posted above. I guess Ford was already planning on bringing the Boss 302 into the lineup, which was news to me, but Saleen beat them to the punch.
-Just thought it was funny that I found an article two days after I see this new car that i've never heard of.
Yea, I've got it on "fairly good authority" that the Boss 302 is a green light for 09. It will hail the end of the new Shelby's however. I say bring it on.......and don't rape our wallets in the process plz.

I'm just waiting for ford to release the new Boss 302 engine so I can drop it into my mustan - :D
I picked up my Saleen Parnelli Jones on the 13th on February. The car is very sweet. It is a Saleen like no other. Different sound, suspension and look. A Saleen only better.
i've seen those "Boss" types out here up close. the dealer close to my work does their own custom jobs. the sales guy told me it has custom exhaust and engine mods. he said the HP was roughly around 340HP. i looked inside and it also has small cosmetic mods like a custom shifter. the 2 side windows are tinted and the back window has black louvers(hard to clean, yuk!) sticker price was $30K($30,400 maybe can't remember. not over $31k though)... and yes, i did take pics. they had black, red, white, and orange.
A friend pointed me to this page which shows a side-by-side comparison of the Saleen & 1971 Alfa GTV. Would never think there were any similarities but it's shocking. Which one do you think will be worth more in 25 years? I personally would take the Alfa : )
Yeah, that's the GAS's retro. I have the original one they made. It was the third week in Sept06 when I picked it up. Josey did my stereo and it bumps... . For my birthday, they had Parnelli sign my dash. They said they did something to my car and that I couldn't have it till they fixed it... I got upset and then I saw the sig... lol The HP on the one in the pic is at the crank about 340 - 360. I have extra above that one and have about 400hp at the crank. That one also still has the 3.31:1 rear end... They got in 10 or 12 of the Saleen\Parnelli cars and probably sold them all in a couple days...
