Ok here it is I might have a race coming up. I have pretty many mods done, I would say around 240HP or so in my car, im not sure on the torque prolly around the same. His eclipse as I know of has rims, and 3inch exhaust. Its a stock turbo to. So who you think would win this one. They are both stick.
I have alot of things done including NOS. ut I didnt count that if I did it would be well over 300HP at the crank. I dont have a blower or anything like that.

I no something to that when he put in the 1st gen motor his car ran slow then it did before at the track. Alot of people say its not that fast like high 14s, some say it is fast. I duno what the outcome will be, might be close.

I have seen turbo swap first gens with intercoolers and all the works barely pulling on stage 1 SRT-4s. DSMs are a joke unless you have tons of $$ laying around.
It depends if you race from a roll or a dig. GSX+AWD=holeshot, also is his car automatic or 5 speed. i think if its automatic and you run him from a roll you might have a chance if you use your cheater spray. also 1st gen eclipse gsx 190hp. 2nd gen 210. it would help to know what your list of mods

Eh I raced this dude around here with a first gen DSM. Everyone talked like his car was a modded 4 cyl beast but I tore him a new one from a 15 mph role. It was closer from a dead start but still not that impressive. All i'm running is a mild 302 just shy of 300hp , C4 auto trans , 3:73 gears. I couldn't tell what all he had done to it but ppl must have been blowing it out of proportion. But , then again I have seen ones that are pretty crazy. I got a vid of one pulling pretty good in a Lingenfelter Corvette. He got beat pretty bad in 3rd, but he took the Corvette by several lenghts off the line. They cost $$$$ to make fast , but they can deffinitely be fast when done right. It would be good to know what your mods were since I wouldn't just "guess" my hp was at 240. you may be overestimating your mods and get dog stomped by a 4 banger. If we knew your mods I'm sure some of these guys on here could give you a better idea how the race would turn out.
a stock 1g motor runs a 14b turbo, with 3" and a boost controller there good for about 240 - 260 hp.. may freind has a 1g talon with 16g evo 8 turbo, 3", o2 dump, 550cc injecters, apexi safc.. and he vettes all day long.. i would say depending on from what u say he's got done, it's be close.. but he will eat you off the line everytime

ok i have a cai thats 5 hp, I'm up to 198 now...
uh full catback with no cats thats 15 hp, now I'm up to 213...

...that is why it is tough for me to believe a lot of the claimed hp in this forum.

Yeah, except for in that video the vette owner is competely afraid of his car, and doesnt know how to drive. Have seen that one 100 times. The DSM does a redline RPM launch while the vette feathers it out of the hole. Then the vette dusts the crap outta him and immediatly let off.
That vette owner was straight up scared of his car. Every time he got into it he would quickly let off. And BTW when you come back from 7-10 carlenghts before you get outta third the loser isnt "Pulling pretty hard".

I'd be scared of driving that thing on the street too. That doesn't mean the guy don't know how to drive. In the full out race he didn't launch it, he held back and then got on it.
