View Full Version : 20" who gots dubs on a 99 -04 stang
Sicx13 02-13-2007, 01:55 PM post em up pics, specs, please
Igot my rimsyesterday and it was mostly dumb luck that i got stuff that fit as there is really no info on this site. everyone is more performance oriented and dont really like the dubs, and wont give a real answer bout what will fit .
korn253 02-16-2007, 12:29 PM Putting 20" wheels on a 99-04 mustang is just plan retarded. The 05+ on the other hand is a different story, they are actually designed to look good with bigger wheels.
Sicx13 02-16-2007, 01:28 PM i figured it wouldnt take to long be before an ignorant comment showed up . and what make the people that put 19s on their car here more acceptable?
Roaddane 02-17-2007, 12:26 AM So did you get 20's, if so post a pic of yours. There was a thread on this site not long ago with some pics of 20's on 99-04 Stangs, but there weren't that many cuz it's not common. After seeing the pictures I don't really mind them, maybe look just a bit too big. The real problem seems to be that you need to go with a real low profile tire to get it to fit, and that's fine for a show car, but not really practical for a daily driver.
As for getting info on this, or any site, sometimes the info won't to you, you have to go out looking for it.
PS: I do agree with Korn that 05+ look great with 20's.
Sicx13 02-17-2007, 11:24 PM took me a bit, i had to resize the pics(and i finally did wash the car)

I dont believe that any thing bigger than 18's should be put on a new edge, they just look to big for the body and it hurts performance which is the soul purpose of a mustang.
TsmithGT00 02-19-2007, 01:27 AM I wouldnt do 20's but if someone can pull it off and make it look good then hey, do what u like. Its ur car not anyone elses.
POISND U 02-19-2007, 01:32 AM 20s? Are you serious? Mustangs are muscle cars, not ghetto cruisers....
Of course, S197s are the exceptions....

indeed, it did hurt performance a bit. form over function is the way i had a friend put it. all im saying is dont hate. im not asking anyone one else to put 20s on their car. i was tryin to contribute to the forum, since ive seen the question bout 20s asked before and before anyone can give some input, the retarded and ghetto remarks start poppin up. hey thatsjust not your cup of tea and thats cool, its not like im hurting the performance of your car
metalmat 02-20-2007, 12:46 AM Check out my 20" rims:

I am looking to put some 18" on though, and I dont really like the chrome....
Jimmz 02-20-2007, 03:21 AM Were not hatin were just sayin that they dont look good thats why no one hardly has 20's on their stangscuz you can't pull it off unless its an 05-07 body.... think about it youll never see a 99-04 mustang in DUB magazine!!!

MustangMadness7 02-20-2007, 04:48 AM Ehhh, personaly i dont like 20's on edges most of the time. Theirs always exceptions that they will look alright on. As long as you like them, and the looks outweigh the performance disadvantage to you, then thats all that matters.
waggs 02-20-2007, 01:25 PM some dude i used to go to school with put 22's on a 2000 v6.

tehzack 02-20-2007, 05:54 PM Are those boss 304's? I wouldn't mind having a set for my truck. You really need to work on your picture taking skills though man. Its hard to get a sense of how the car looks.
Guys he didn't need people to rag on him. He just wanted some pics, more then 18's does hurt the perf. and braking but maybe he doesn't intend to race his car.
Sicx13 02-22-2007, 01:21 AM another pic, im not the greatest photographer

waggs 02-22-2007, 05:16 AM not all mustangs look bad with bigger rims. i saw a blue '01 bullitt that had 20" gray bullitt style rims and it looked fvckin nice!
AdderMk2 02-23-2007, 10:48 AM I personally think that you chose a terrible wheel... those things look so retarded.
Sicx13 02-23-2007, 11:32 AM thx
92hatchLX 02-24-2007, 04:19 PM Big Pimpin!Jesus! that thing looks like a 4x4!
02gtsandstorm 02-25-2007, 08:51 PM tehzack hey if u wanna see some boss 304s i can show u what they look like on a 98 black f150 lowered 5 inches

bigugly78cj5 02-25-2007, 10:18 PM i bought a mustang cobra with some 20s on it(staggered for that matter 8.5 up front, 10 in the rear), although im real close to switching back to a set of stock svt chromes just lookin for a place to buy them.... but yes the tires are really thin not big on that but far as looks i think they look good on the car... http://www.mustangforums.com/upfiles/59801/4084BCDF824749BDBC75CD795DC55ECA.jpg

99Coby 03-12-2007, 04:50 AM I agree, not to rag on anyone but 17" max unless you have an aftermarket noseclip like a saleen cobra R lookalike etc. Then you can pulloff the 18"s.
850SN95 03-12-2007, 02:56 PM this thread just makes me want some 20's even more, or even a set of 22's
nick_svs 03-12-2007, 05:10 PM I keep waiting for somebody to put a lift kit and color-change flame paint with their chrome 20s.
BeachStang04 03-12-2007, 05:50 PM 20's + Don't belong on a mustang!!! It looks like ****, no exceptions.

hahaha funny thing is, is that there is a 99-04 mustang in my city with 20unch spinners and i think it looks cheesy.

[sm=badidea.gif]
That's horrible. Of course I'm not a fan of spinners on anything, but you can kind of get away with it on an Escalade or those old Cadillacs or something. But a Mustang?
Everytime somebody puts chrome 20's on a Mustang, God kills a kitten. Please, think of the kittens.

true66gt 03-14-2007, 02:17 AM sorry, but those wheels are ugly as hell. and dont ever call wheels "dubs". thats so retarted. cmon man, you put big ass, ugly, ghetto wheels you got off of a buick lesabre onto your MUSTANG!! it looks terrible

99Coby 03-14-2007, 09:55 PM I think many kittens have died today........
BigBadRick 03-15-2007, 12:51 AM I agree that 20's a.k.a. "D's" a.k.a. DUBs a.k.a. Twinkies look very nice on the 05-07 body style. I would never put a 20 a.k.a. "D" a.k.a. DUB a.k.a. Twinky on my 04 GT.
Sicx13 03-15-2007, 01:04 PM the redneck mentality on this site is amazing. some of you fools should buy camaros

An intelligent remark on your end might justify a similarly intelligent reply on mine.
Besides, it's a waste of my time to engage in a battle of the wits with the unarmed.
03machyellow 03-15-2007, 10:35 PM please shoot anyone that put's 20's or more on a mustang or atleast make them buy a chevy!!!!!
silverstang1996 03-27-2007, 03:16 PM i don't think 20's look bad on some mustangs, i had 20" bullits on mine and i liked em, alot of ppl have complimented on them. i'm selling them now though because i'm saving money up to mess wiith my engine. and by all means you can call 20's "dubs", because they are, it's just another name for them.
justinsmustang 03-27-2007, 03:46 PM I used to have 20s on my 03 with 245/35/20s lowered 1.5"

MuscleOwnzRice 03-28-2007, 02:20 PM o god no! 20" on a mustang[sm=badidea.gif]
Kbush723 03-29-2007, 02:02 PM bad idea. is an understatement mustangs not a ghetto cruiser go get an old beat up caprice. and leave the stang alone..
or atleast get your car lowered the thing looks like a 4X4
dumb dumb dumb.. [sm=sigh.gif]
MI Stang 04-05-2007, 07:42 PM I agree. I think 20's look real good on other cars, but not the mustangs. I just got a mustang & started wondering which rims look best to me. I like 17 - 18 in. chrome ford racing rims that I have seen here or some rims that were black with chrome.( same size )
kmobrien76 04-06-2007, 04:09 AM Different for sure...
MustangMike2001 04-06-2007, 04:37 AM I don't think 20's in general look bad but the huge chrome SUV type rims like you have don't look right to me. They're too big and heavy to be put on a sports car.

1hotdrp 04-06-2007, 04:22 PM anything bigger then 18 on a 99-04 mustang doesnt look good but 20s on a 05+ mustang looks ok...imo. its your car u have to drive it not anyone else

snooj 04-08-2007, 04:43 PM Hey, it's your car. Ignore what everyone says. If you like it, then that's all that matters.
Jimmz 04-08-2007, 09:06 PM those 20" bullitts look sick on that stang tho....
tgennings 04-09-2007, 08:25 PM see it works on somemustangs :)
Syracuse Pimp 04-10-2007, 02:31 PM i got 18's on my '95 convertible and its lowered 2"...thats how u gotta do it if u put bigger rims on. u gotta lower it too
Syracuse Pimp 04-10-2007, 02:34 PM justinsmustang: usually stangs dont look good with anything bigger than 18 or maybe 19 but yours looks sick with the 20s and lowering springs. nice car man
loud3 04-14-2007, 03:59 PM http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k61/Loud3/niceangleofthestangSmall.jpg
An old project of mine. Not a 99+, but it's on 20's... and full air suspension.

This is my 99' on 20's.... I think they look nice on there... They are show rims, but they do make it look nice...
Syracuse Pimp 04-16-2007, 02:56 PM that car would look nice if it was all white or all black. that 2 tone doesnt do much for it

If that's in response to mine... then you might need to check the resolution on your monitor. That is the first time I rolled the mustang out of the shop... the bumper is in gray primer, the hood is carbon fiber. That is pre-paint.
SikSide00GT 04-16-2007, 03:52 PM sadly i once had 20's check em out on my images up on my profile
