The delay is totally normal. I assume you're playing your highs through the head unit so you don't notice it there. The delay is caused my the protection relays in the amp "checking things over" before it powers up. This usually takes a few seconds. As far as "losing bass" goes, that's a totally separate issue. Give us some more details about your setup. What amp, speakers, sub, wiring info, etc.

What amp, speakers, sub, wiring info, etc. all stock mach 460 in a 03 GT when i say losing bass, i mean it isnt as deep as it was when i first bought the car...i dont "abuse" teh bass, i keep it like 5 notches away from full usually
