Default 99 COBRA

I went and looked at a 99 cobra to replace the 2000 gt today and i have a few questions about them. I know that they are 5 speeds but are they the t-45s? Would i have to change some of the internals in order to run a supercharger at 12 psi.

The stock tranny is a t-45, but is that underneath the cobra? I've heard if you're going to run anything past 5-8 psi, you need to swap out internals. What does the cobra look like? Color, coupe/vert, is it apart of the recall batch?

When running an aftermarket s/c or turbo its ALWAYS a good idea to swap out and reinforce some internals.

The price to beef em up is minimal to the price of rebuilding a hosed engine.

depends how far you want to go with it. Cams, heads, valves, pistons, etc. Theres alot you can do. Do some reading up on the net and find out what works best for your car and your pocket.

12 psi of boost is pushin the edge, ill go ahead and tell you if you get a forged kit, you'll get the exact crank you got now...some steel h-beam rods and forged pistons keeping compression round 9 or so should be fine for the street. Top ends just your choice, if your going with a serious build-up then the options are out there, but 12 psi and a good tune with exhaust could net u close to 500 rwhp...which is good enough for the street (your biggest problem will be your drivetrain)

I plan on doing ALOT with my motor and exhaust. First the Engine: bored .030, honed, vatted, forged crank (if I dont already have one), Manley dish pistons (.030, -23), Manley I beam rods, stage II heads, Manley Valves, racing springs, 42 lbs/hr injectors, ported lower intake, big oval throttle body, t-56 tranny, KB 2.1 over bore s/c (13-21 psi/8 rib system), 3 core intercooler, true flow intake pipe, MAF, custom tune, K&N air filter, underdrive pulleys...I think thats it!

Exhaust:custom long true equallength headers, Hookers formed collector w/ 3" diameter, Jegs 3" pipes in 4' sections (will I need more then one section?...probably not), Magnaflow High Performance/High Flow 3" In/Out cats, Jegs 3" H-Pipe kit,Flowmaster Super 40's, Roush side exit tips (yes I'll have the Roush side skirts)...Thats it for exhaust.
Now lets say I had the money to do that right now, how sick do you think my car would be? seriously! How much rwhp do you think i'd be laying down? (if you dont know, guess...if you cant guess, tell me you dont know lol)

alright,a quickquestion... i was trying to find a system like that myself way back, u sure flowmaster has same side enter/exit 40's, i couldnt find any? oh, i think i got an idea of your hp, but if you can pinpoint a psi, 13-21 is a big difference, oh and if over 15 psi you'll probably need bigger injectors...otherwise sounds like a sick set up[sm=smiley20.gif]

headersbyed.com/bildbetr.htm dont copy and paste...type letter for letter. Read that page top to bottom and it might give you some ideas. Flowmasters have same side super 40s, but thats not what i want (center/center). The psi will be about 15-18, that a better range? Would you say 60lbs injectors will do the trick?
