I was driving mine down the motorway and up speeds this yellow ferrari 550 gave me then thumbs up and then he stepped on it. I just though what car that cost at about 5% of what the other guy was driving would get that response.

I get the normal thumbs up, etc. Constant questions at the fuel stations. I get the ricers doing flybys only to get embarrased at the next light. My wife on the other hand - has had folks drive off the road, follow her into fuel stations, etc. There was one time when she was coming out of a local jiffy store here close to the house and another fella was fueling his truck and his wife was in the passanger seat. He kinda looks at the car as my wife gets in and says ( according to my wife he was looking at his wife ) damn, I think I need to trade my car in, with the wife in it! Good times! Cheers.

The most common question I get is, "Is that a 64 1/2 or a 65?" So, people are educated about these old classics. Occasionally, I get a thumbs up from a newer Mustang with a guy in it, but never with a girl in it. Girls just don't know what we have.

I sold my '65 GT when a guy flagged me down while stopped at a light. He wanted to go to his bank across the street and get out the cash but I had an appointment to go to so we met up the next morning.

LongLive289's - DON'T SELL IT. You haven't lived long enough to know what true regret is if you sell it. Money comes and goes. Knowledge is power so education is very important however some folks back in the day educated themselves at the library. Not to say that is what to do but if it is important enough to you and you want it then you will find a way. Think outside the box - there is always a way if you want it bad enough. Just yesterday I came up with a great idea but it was only because I exposed myself to tons of input from the web (and you guys too!!!) Heck you can try learning how to paint cars the $50 method and take up weekend painting for junker cars or pick things up off Craigslist or paper want ads and repair them for resale or ?. ( I scan these religiously since granny probably still has that hemi cuda or BOSS 302 still tucked away in the family barn but doesn't know what it really is - then one day will end up selling it in the local paper...) You can learn to re-condition alternators or water pumps since you work at Schucks - might get the occasional customer there. Every car that I have trailered home has had folks stop me to offer money on the spot. You gotta love the classics. I can guarantee it - you will never be able to find a Mustang like yours for what you will sell it for. Heck - you've already worked out the major bugs with it, that is half the fun of owning one. I know that this thought is a long way down the road but someday you might have kids and I can bet that one of them will love that car as much or more than you do... Good luck! Knowledge is power - you can then trade that power for days off, more $, whatever you want...including keeping that Mustang!

Soon after I purchased the 67 I was stuck in traffic and driving slowly through one of our beach towns. I passed a group of scantilly-clad young hotties who were yapping together on the sidewalk. As the car rumbled slowly past them, they all turned and looked, and one of them shouted out - "That's Hot!" I knew at that moment I made the right purchase!

Trust me, you do not want to sell your car. I sold my 68 fastback when I went to college and have regreted it every day since. If you have to sell that is one thing, but I would try darn hard to keep it if I were you.
