Turbo lag now adays is not a issue with as much work and and planing that has gone into todays turbos lag is nothing like it use to be.

Well, a Supra does have a lot of potential. I meant it can do 1000 hp on stock bottom end, and not even a Cobra can do that much without serious internal injuries.
But would I buy one? Hell no! Why? Too damn expensive!
Supras with 1000 hp are very NOT street worthy though, as a huge turbo on a 3.0L engine creates tremendous lag. You'd have to sit there for like a minute to spool up like a Boeing 747. And even with 1000 hp, they only do mid 9's.

i guess i got in a little late, but...that supra was APU. advanced perfomance upgrades. internals, large single turbo, drivetrain, yadayada. the z06 had no chance n/a. as for turbo lag, it is a myth now. ball bearing turbos spool fast enough to negate the "lag" associated with larger turbos. lets think about this. if i were to put a turbo that made peak boost (24psi) at 5000rpm on my car, i would have no lag. if i shift at redline, i drop to 5500rpm. i would be at full boost in every shift. i would only have about 1700rpm of power, but i would never have lag. turbo lag is a myth.
