I'm on their email list for updates.

They expect 40 hp when they release it.

I'm in.

Is it still in R/D, because I went to their homepage and the only manifold was for GM. I am going back to look. Thanks for the info.

Yea, there has been *some* info about the Intake Manifold. I can't wait to see what some H/C/I S197's are going to put down to the ground.

375 RWHP with H/C+minor bolt-ons, if any of ya'll saw that thread a day or two ago.[8D]

HCI + full boltons and bigger injectors and a really really good tune could be worth 425-450 to the wheels when they work out all the kinks .

That intake is really only gonna be worth anything when included with heads/cam. For my money at least, I can't see spending that kind of cash when I can get more out of a blower for less money.

As far as making it out of metal, it would be more dense and therefore store more heat - no thanks

For guys that are looking to put down huge #'s with a race car every ounce of power is an improvement. For the other 99% of us it's much too pricey. These motors nowadays are CAD designed and flow pretty damned well from the factory. 30 years ago 300 horspower and 25mpg was unheard of with 281 cubic inches

I too would be surprised if it actually made a significant real world improvement. Besides, with intake manifolds usually the following is true.

Anyone that has built a traditional pushrod motor can testify that there are PLENTY of manifolds that will give you 20 or so HP over another good streetable aftermarket intake at the high end but lose gobbs of torque down low and have the low end throttle response of pudding.

This is the reason for charge motion plates. Not just emmisions. The whole idea is to have a manifold that makes torque at the low end, but opens up at the high end for the peak HP. Porsche uses this system on their flat 6 motors and it does wonders for flattening out the torque curve.

Even camshafts. There usually is no such thing as a cam that makes more power everywhere compared to stock with absolutly no comprimises. That is why we have VVT.

you make a very good point classj.

the hogans was like $2600 and the kinsler was almost $4000 i think but i don't know what all it came with. knowing the quality of kinsler stuff and the usual prices i'd say it may include injectors and fuel rails but thats probably it. you would still need a FAST unit and the rest of the fuel system. it is truly the coolest though. my dad had a hilborn setup on his car for a few years. it was bada$$ having the stacks through the hood. the only thing i could think that would be cooler than that setup is a carbon fiber bug catcher mounted on a 3.3Lwhipple sticking through the hood. then you of course have to have zoomie headers.

here's a pic of my ported stock intake with frpp cmcv deletes, trans-dapt t/b spacer and shelby twin 60mm t/b. i'm going to test each one of these items separately so i know what differences each one makes if any. i'm not expecting much though. if i can get 15hp from all of it i'd be satisfied. it's about a $250 investment total+ my time proting the intake and matching the spacer to the new t/b.
