I heard from a friend that I could put an cylinder head from an F150 on my 2001 3.8 V6 so it would be a 4.2litre engine. Is this real? Are those heads for sale 0 miled in a shop or do I have to get them from a scrapyard?

More info plz!

Nope.

Changing the heads won't change the engine displacement. You'd just have truck heads on a car, which, in all likelyhood will drop your c/r and make your car slower.

Thnx for the info! Would an Ranger 4.0 V6 fit in a Stang 01?                   Stang 2001      Ranger

                          stock 3.8l V6   stock 4.0l V6

Horsepower (SAE net @ rpm) 193 @ 5500      207 @ 5250

Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm)      225 @ 2800      238 @ 3000

I think this would be a better way to improve acceleration and top speed then the 4.2 V6 from an F150 because its more revving then the F150 engine and it has a higher compression ratio. Am i wrong or right?

Why waste your time doing that? Put a 4.6 in it or better yet a 5.0!!! If your going to go through all that trouble and just put another 6 in it youre just wasting time and money.

Or go all out, get a 351W.

Some dude at the track on friday was running a '87 stang with one of those in there.

He JUST passed the 60 foot line, and BOOM, saw a big ol flash under the hood. He cracked the intake manifold and blew the intake piping to smitherines.

Asked him how, he said the nitrous did it.......Told him the nitrous didn't do it. Not tuning it and being greedy did it.
