Default What you guys think of these 3 point belts?

http://www.restoretrucks.com/SeatBelts-14037.html

Down the page a little bit. Supposed to be universal and seem a bit less expensive than the norm for 3pt belts. They also have burgundy... though it seems a little light in color to match my vintage burgundy... I can also get them at a VERY good price.

I dunno.. what you guys think?

Or these with what look to be much better color options in both retractable and non-retractable with the vintage looking chrome buckels

Seat belts are seat belts... If your not going for an original look and going for something less expensive id say go for it. The only thing is with a generic seat belt if it doesnt fit in the same location as your old seat belts ... You might have to drill holes to make it work. Butthat is not a big deal

Looks like you decided to go with 3 points in the rear seat Chief. Zat right? Those look like they will do the trick.

No.. just for the front ones.... then put some regular lap belts in the rear. I should be getting those diagrams from Mr. F in the mail soon.

Yeah, that's the ceiling mount method. We already have that in the FAQ. The problem with that method is you have to replace the headliner and screw around with welding stuff on the roof. It also looks pretty stoopid with the belt hanging from the ceiling IMO. I plan to do the convertible 3 point hook-up when I get around tuit....

the real problem with that method is that you would be decapitated by the belt b/c it doesnt sit properly on your shoulder. yeah it looks crap too.

I used a drop belt from the roof. Paid a proper belt installer to do it because its illegal here to install new belts yourself (as distinct from replacing belts which is fine). Looks neat and tidy and i didnt have to replace the headliner. the retractable reel is right down on the floor so doesnt get in the way whereas imo the vert one does.

attached is an example from another car(right hand side of the pic). if anyone is interested i will try to get some better shots of mine on the weekend.

The belt shouldn't just be hanging there Soarin. It shouldbe behind the clip holding it to the ceiling of the car when not in use.

You still have to tear up your headliner to install the roof 3rd point. That requires you to take out the front and back glass to replace the headliner. Not something I would be willing to do just to have a 3 point belt when hooking to the door member is just as effective.
