Well, dropped off my Extreme today to local performance shop (authorized to do Saleen work) and they called back and said the clutch bolts were only "hand-tight"; the tighten'em up and put clutch back into position.....will see how it does tomorrow. They stated it was working like a glove so I'll hopefully be able to enjoy the toy!
YOu should always have a Saleen Mustang "nut and bolted" meaning you get it in the air and tighten everything that you can get to on the chassis/suspension after 1000 miles or so. Did it to mine and eliminated the front end "clunk".
Drove it.....and a world of difference! Can't believe I struggled with this thing for 6K miles without any real advise (well, YOU guys did give advise and I appreciate it!). Yep, the clutch apparently was slipping now and then due to the non-torque method of installation. Even found reverse today on the 1st try!! Hopefully, the clutch didn't suffer any serious damage but did "smell" it only a few times.....sure it will go out just as I hit 12,001 miles......:))
