I have recently have installed 4.30 gears on the 5speed. In the future I plan on using a power adder, Nitrous, s/c or turbo. I have dicided which one yet.with the 4.30 gears would i get the full benefit out of the power adder? or is there going to be a problem with revving out the motor. if this is the case, should i switch to 4.10's, 3.90's or 3.73's?
However, I think that with a power adder gears that low would be a bad idea. It would be very very difficult to get traction in first and second with that kind of power and gearing.
Later this year I will be dropping in a SC, at that time I am going to switch to some different gears. I think something like 3.73 or 3.90 would be much more appropriate with FI.
Anyway, if you get a power adder that doesn't come on very low like a centrifgual SC or a turbo then you might be able to get away with some lower gears, but IMHO it would be right out with a screw or roots blower.

Without doing an analysis, I agree with Crazy Al, you may be running out of 4th gear with F/I and 4.30s during a 1/4 mile run.
There are plenty of gear/speed calculators out on the internet that will help you do your analysis.
There are plenty of people successfully running 4.10s with centri super chargers, twin screw chargers, and nitrous. You will just need to beef up a few suspension compontents and get a wider tire and you should be fine.

Um, some guy on this forum(Can't think of his name) is running a KB and 4.30's. I think he loves it too.
