I really like the Speed of sound pod; I think thats what I'm going with. The dash one will be in the way of my radar detector and navagation unit; too much stuff up there.

I looked around and they seem the only ones I have seen that will work with a vert on the pilar...........I could be wrong, those seem to be the ticket............all I need is a X-Charger to make them work..............

I didn't do install. so no idea if easy or hard. The shift light is adjustable per rpm.

they make a pillar now where the shift light is actually in the pillar and not bolted on with a clamp...saw it somewhere may not be speed of sound's pillar though.  i would do my research on that

I'm thinking the SoS pillar is the one I'm gonna go with, if the transistion to the dash was a little smoother I'd go with the MRT dash pods though.

Also I don't think I really understand the need for a shift light...am I the only one that drives more by feel than by the tach? Is there a purpose I'm just not getting?

it just makes sure you shift at the right time, dont hit the rev limiter, but dont shift to early
even if your driving by feel you have to look at the tach, ther is no way you can hit a 6000 rpm shift every time.....you want to shift a milisecond before you hit the rev limiter for best results, the shift light makes sure you do it at the right time

Do the gauges come with instructions as to how to hook up the "my color" system, thats a nice touch.

Oh crap, I just checked the price on those Nexus gauges....$250ea! I don't think so!
Next question, should I get a boost/vacuum gauge or just boost, I see there are lots of choices; I'm confused, the only thing I know is I want the SOS pod.

I paid like $80 each for Cobalt's.  I looked at the Nexus's, they are way overpriced.  What I liked about the Cobalt's is that the gauge letter font was close to the font used on the Ford guages.
I have a boost/vacuum gauge.  Forensicsteve has a boost.  I don't think it matters that much between the two.  More of a personal preference (and possibly price).  His will come off zero when he goes into boost.  Mine will swing left out of boost and then swing right when in boost.

i got cobalts. i paid 80 for my narrow band air fuel and 210 for my nitrous pressure

they look really nice! i would have gone with the nexus' but not only are they gauges more expensive, but you also need to buy the remote to change the colors and what not. i keep my gauges blue all the time anyways, so the cobalts will match perfectly.

my SOS pillar is in the mail also

I like the SOS pod a lot, probably the one I would have went with if I didn't do custom.
If you are f/i and getting gauges the one thing I would recommend is breaking down and getting the wideband a/f gauge though.  It's fairly pricey but it is the single most important gauge for you and it is a lot more accurate.
Boost gauges are pretty much just eye candy, not needed, but look good.
