I was thinking the same thing, however I hear you need to cut a few wires to make it work ??? Looks awsome though eh ??

HI, I had the WMS CAI before I had my car.  I live here in Calgary where it is made and I know the people who manufacture some of the parts.  It is an awesome product.  Yes you have to cut a few wires, however, when done properly, you can't tell .  You can look at my site http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2460665/1  for my mods which include the CAI.  I have up close photos of the wires that were cut and how it looks now if you want.  I used the 95 MM MAS with a custom tune on a dyno.  If you use the 85 MM you can use a standard tune.  if you need any other detail info, email me at   robpatynais@shaw.ca

Hope this helps
Rob

It's not that great.

According to all the magazine reviews and tests it's in the middle of the pack for HP/TQ gains.  Other intakes such as the C&L and the JLT-2 make more power despite everyone thinking that the WMS is better due to "straight shot" or "ram air" or other such nonsense.

I personally would not buy one.  It is more expensive than the above CAIs.  It makes slightly less power.  The installation is more complicated and it requires wiring modification (some people are OK with that but others may have concerns about warranty, installation time or cost, etc).

What's the point? Stick with C&L or JLT etc.  Cheaper.  More power.  Easier to install.

Here's one such review complete with Dnyo tests:

Badazzelanore -> RE: WMS CAI? (1/26/2007 7:13:26 PM)

Dont believe everything you read in magazine's.  I HAVE the WMS CAI and I absolutly love it!  There was some re-wiring, but it was very very very simple!  It was mentioned earlier in this post that you cant tell when done right, it's true.  As far as HP goes, they are all within a few of each other.  I think it looks like it should have come from Ford.  So I say do what you want, go with what you think looks the best, but whatever you do go ahead and do it (You wont regret it!).

howarmat -> RE: WMS CAI? (1/26/2007 8:09:02 PM)

I am with CrazyAl on this one.  C&L and JLT are the most common and they have simple 25-30 minute install, no wire cutting and you can easily replace to stock if you have warranty concerns.  If you cut the wire you will not be able to return to stock.   I am glad you have the WMS and love it Badazzelanore, but why say don't believe what you read in magazines.  Some people have the K&N kit and they say they LOVE it.  But it does not give you the same gains as some of the others.  I am going to believe the magazines numbers over someone saying that they LOVE something.

When the WMS isnt suck' in its ramm' in.[sm=happy046.gif]

I've had mine for a long time. I really like it. Makes a lot more sense to me to have the intake taking air from the front of the car rather than the engine bay. This why I took off the C&L Powder Coated True Flow CAI. Pretty but not practical.

To each his own though.

Had the WMS CAI on my 05 GT for a long time.Yes, it is more involved to install with cutting and splicing wires and relocating the overflow tank. But two thing I like about it does function as they say.I found increased HP and response with this CAI I started out with just the stock tune and could feel inprovements imediately.THen went for a  SCT-11 tuner and 93 oct tune from Brenspeed.Thought that really added power and increase throttle respose. Now I have gone on to the next step and added a Saleen S/C.Still using the the WMS CAI but upgraded to 95 MM  mass air tube. Had tuned locally by a SCT tuner and dyno's at 427 RWHP 404 torque.I love the loks of this set up and the WMS has worked well with each step of my upgrade.I would recommened the WMS to everyone .Also with the Saleen install no issue with fitting the CAI under the hood.
