My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning**

rrobello -> My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 2:22:07 AM)

These things are killer, really clean up the looks of the car and make it look a hell of a lot better. I still need to get them painted but was too eager to put them on so they are on in the mean time. Install is pretty straight forward and doesn't take very much time. Thank you Corey and Heath, I love these new mirrors.

*If they ask how you heard about them, tell them you saw my post (if you dont mind), thank you -Richard

Write-up:
They recommend painting these mirror housings with an automotive exterior paint to keep them UV stable. If you don't there is a possibility of them getting gray and chalky in the future. They are made from urethane and they do not use a release on their molds like other manufactures so painting should not be a problem.

Parts included:
Driver and Passenger mirror housings and mirror glass assemblies.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42462-2/Parts.JPG[/image]

1. Remove the drivers side triangular plastic cover that the side mirror adjustment knob is located in. You can do this simply by pulling horizontally.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42467-2/Step01.JPG[/image]

2. Disconnect the mirror motor wire harness.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42485-2/Step02b.JPG[/image]

3. Remove the three nuts holding the mirror in place. 11mm

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42488-2/Step03a.JPG[/image]

4. Remove the mirror assembly.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42491-2/Step03b.JPG[/image]

5. Remove mirror by carefully pulling.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42494-2/Step04.JPG[/image]

6. Get the correct Torx bit and unscrew the three torx screws attaching the mirror motor.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42500-2/Step05b.JPG[/image]

7. Gently pull out the motor and unclip the wiring from the back of the motor. The later motors that came along in 06 have an uncommon looking harness. It has a funky saddle type harness that has two clips on either side of the motor.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42506-2/Step06b.JPG[/image]

8. Remove the wiring harness from the stock housing.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42512-2/Step07b.JPG[/image]

9. Clip wiring back onto the mirror motor.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42515-2/Step08a.JPG[/image]

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42518-2/Step08b.JPG[/image]

10. Thread the wire harness through the new mirror housing.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42521-2/Step08c.JPG[/image]

11. Screw the factory motor in place using the three stock torx screws.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42524-2/Step09.JPG[/image]

12. Remove the stock weatherstripping foam from the stock mirror. Place this on the new A47 mirror housing and bolt it on the car using the stock nuts.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42470-2/Step10a.JPG[/image]

Install both sides to this point and plug in the harnesses. Now check the motors for proper operation.

[image]http://www.surfnsocal.com/gallery/d/42473-2/Step10b.JPG[/image]

13. After everything is working properly you can clip on the actual mirror glass. It will be marked on the back with a D or P designating driver or passenger. Before you snap them on note that there is a thin wall. Make sure the cut out faces downward. It should not take too much force to snap these on. DO NOT FORCE IT! These are not meant to be repeatedly taken on and off so try to get it right the first time.

14. Reinstall the plastic interior covers.

Arwing -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 2:25:49 AM)

looks kind of weird at first, but maybe id have to get used to them.

Caution -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 3:33:49 AM)

+1 ... those I'd have to see in person so I can get a feel for um

Orion_240 -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 3:57:53 AM)

they look a little like the mirrors from a 71 Mustang.
I wouldn't want to swap mine just bcause I enjoy the huge rear view the stock ones provide.
Great install info though!

rrobello -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 4:17:44 AM)

these mirrors definately look much better in person, the pics for some reason do give it kind of that distorted look. As for how much visibility you get out of them, you dont lose much; the mirror pieces themselves are about 3/4 the size of the originals, I have no issues with visibility

moosestang -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 5:17:27 AM)

Those look pretty good.  So you keep the power mirror option?  How much?

Justin_R -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 8:55:13 AM)

Dont like em what so ever. [:'(]

starman -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 9:11:45 AM)

I like the look.  However, $395 is insane for two pieces of plastic, unpainted, and two small pieces of glass.

Enjoy yours.

05BlueGT -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 9:13:31 AM)

I think it looks pretty nice, it gives the car more of a retro look. It also looks more aero-dynamic than our huge mirrors that has alot more drag. Let us know how much faster the car is and your gas mileage increase.

my77stang -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 9:17:03 AM)

they look very much like Mustang II mirrors, although they do look a little wierd on the new stangs

jerseystang07 -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 9:27:28 AM)

Very nice.  They definately do clean up the look of the lines.  Everything just flows a little better.

28HopUp -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 9:56:56 AM)

Awesome write-up!!!  Those mirrors look great on your car, IMO...

ponyskunk06 -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 10:43:16 AM)

im kinda on the fence about them but they seem to be growing on me they look nice is that the stock finish on them or are they painted if thats stock it looks nice

chrismakk69 -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 10:48:16 AM)

I like them alot. A bit pricey though...They definitley look better than those giant clunkers that come stock!

torch red -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 1:02:14 PM)

actually they are urethane, not some cheap plastic, thats what creates a perfect fit, OEM look, easier to paint, and overall quality

arent those $75, are they a piece or $75 total, if its 75 a piece I dont see how then this could be expensive. for both- I was actually originally thinking of just having the mirrors painted to match the car, it would only cost a little more than what you spent on those. Not trying to judge or be an arse, just showing that if you are willing to spend $75 (or $150?) on little plastic overlays then how is $395 for entirely new mirrors that create a unique look and are URETHANE cost too much???

TO EVERYONE:
thanks for the great compliments, IMO they are very worth the money and I like them, however I know that not everyone is going to and thats cool, it makes mine more unique...lol, just thought Id share a great product.

The Ghost -> RE: My new Agent 47 Mirrors! **56KWarning** (1/24/2007 4:20:36 PM)

I think those would look absolutley perfect on a Legend Lime car with the Boss stripe package. Talk about retro!!!
