That's better than I expected. Many were guessing it was going to be 350 HP at best. If all this is true, I would much rather have a Bullitt than a GT500. 400 HP n/a is just perfect for me. Now I hope it is affordable???

I read somewhere the schedule to begin production was the beginning of December 2007. That means it will be out before the Challenger and will steal alot of the limelight.

Anyone guess how much these will be?? If the GT500 MSRP is $43k and the Shelby GT is $37k, what will these come to? $40k??

40K seems reasonable, maybe a little less. I'd also rather have 400 hp NA than the GT500. The horsepower wars are getting good.

I've been reading on various other ford and mustang forums that the 400hp 4.6 4V is not a reality. Some misinformation of some kind from the way it sounds. I had been hearing about the 08 Bullitt packing a current gen 4.6 with 4V heads.....but nothing about the motor pulling anything close to 400hp. I think 350 is reasonable assuming Ford is smart enough to tune the engine to its potential...........none of this 87 octane crap.
Supposedly we'll see a new Boss in 09.....and the word right now is a 4V 302 modular motor making 375 to 400hpNA.
We'll have to just wait and see.

According to Stangnet a couple of weeks ago, the Boss and Bullit mustangs will both get the 5.0 tuned to 400-425 hp NA. The differences between the two would be styling, and the Boss would be a stripped down stang. The article also stated that a detuned version of this 5.0 would be the standard GT engine in 08. That, to me, would be the best possible outcome at this point. I wish they would ditch the 4.6 completely for a 5.0
