So.  there a million reasons to buy a new car and out of all them, buying a NEW car because it has 'history' is the stupidest (IMO) of them all.  You buy a new car because you like the new car over another new car.  People buy cars for their own reasons.

Porsche owners buy cars because of their "history". I have always bought my vehicles for what I want, not resale value or history. If I want it quicker, then I take care of that myself. I personally don't feel loud = speed. I have seen some really loud vehicles (V8 included) that were total dogs. I wouldn't mind having my 41 year old car back, yes it was loud, rode rough and the clutch would give you leg spasms in traffic. It went like a scalded dog, stopped great and cornered like it was a slot car.

The guys arguing that he didn't buy a mustang for the history.....so what? The history of the mustang is supplemental to its name....you don't have to buy the car BECAUSE of it.

[hijack] Mojoe, I never noticed the ghost flames on your ride until today...looks good, [/hijack over]
I got my mustang because I've always wanted one.  Now I want another, kinda like tatoos and liquor I guess.

At first I just thought there were some wierd lines in your sig, but then I checked out your album and finally saw them.  I was thinking of adding ghost flames to the lemans stripes i'm gonna put on the 67, and after looking at your car, it'll probably be a go.

If your talking about me say so, Who knows who your talking about if you just say "The guy"
and that’s not what I was talking about, The guy "czwalga00gt" said that history means nothing, That’s wrong, history means a lot. Why are there antique sales and why does a 64 1/2 go for so much money. history is important, you don't understand that why do you have a classic?

you know what, I could give a ****. I don't own a classic and would never own one  so WTF do I care.

The Guy=czwalga00gt

ok I finally read the whole thread.....we are you guys (mojo/grr) feeding the trolls?

Taking a pretty straight forward thread about muffler selection based on noise and then attmepting to turn it into a bashing party because someone doesn't really car about a car's history.....that's just wrong.

Mustangs are SLOW POSs, but then I think most cars are POSs and slow.  But I like my POS.  I don't really car for sn95 body style, that's a personal thing and I VERY RARELY ever mention it to anyone but they are however a great platform to build on for performance.  The Sn95 are built just as disposable as the first gen mustangs were and they are snapped up now because they can be had cheap and made to go fast....just like first gen cars where in the 80s.

oh noes.. the Chuck Norris has been mentioned... it can only get ugly from here.

Chuck Norris wasnt born, he roundhouse kicked his way out of the womb, and then roundhouse kicked the Doctor just for spite..

I tend to buy a car that I want because it has a quality I desire, usually its got the capability of large engines and interesting styling. its gotta be fun to look at, not really purdy, but fun to look at. Something about primered fenders with Ansen Slotted Mags with raised white letter tires just does it for me..

History is cool, I like history too. The neat thing about it is History is stuff that has already happened, no guess work involved.. I wanted a GTO because they were fast, I wanted a 71 Fastback because one near me when I was growing up was ungodly fast (for the early-mid 80s). it was the IRON HORSE, said it on the rear part of the trunk lid. Built 351C 4V with a toploader and 4.11 gears. Thats about as much history in cars that I get interested in, something that means something to me. Its the future of a car that I like, in other words, what I am going to do to it and with it..

well, if you read my last post I finally understood what the guy was saying and kinda agreed with him, and besides the post was mostly dead anyway, and I did start out talking about mufflers.

Kettle: Hello pot
Pot: yes kettle
Kettle: your black
Pot: awwwwww man

and yes I like mustangs, don't like mustang IIs (well most of them) nor the 05 and up cars.  But I do love my mustang!

There is no chin under Chuck Norris' beard.  There is only another fist.

the troll fed US by posting an irrelevant argument from the 4.6l section in our classic area.
