GTOs are ugly... looks too much like the bastard stepchild of a grand am and grand prix
The 05 GTs are hot. Actually looks like a muscle car. I've read in numerous places that the automatic 05 Stangs go in the 13s.

I dunno.... They just don't look like they belong on the drag strip.....

P.S. I have vids of an '03 modded cobra vs. a blown '04 GTO.... guess who wins....

You're damn right the cobra wins...

Dub you must have superair where you live

I live in Seattle, Wa....You know honestly i find it hard to believe that some of you would argue with the 05 GT running a 13.6...It's 100 pounds heavier than the 99+ GT's with 40 more horsepower and 20 ft/lbs more torque and better gearing with dyno numbers very similar to the mach 1...

Just because some moron came to the track and ran 14's doesn't mean every 05 GT owner will only run those times...Come on MD you know better than that, your a track man like myself.

In the summer of 2002 Motor trend was the first magazine to road test the 03 Cobra and those guys claimed it would run 12's in the quarter at nearly 110 mph....every one said **** no way...just because it was motor trend that was test the car and the problems ford had with the cobra in the past....now every 03-04 Cobra owner out there knows they have a 12 second car in completely stock form...

Only time will tell about the 05 GT....the rumor here is these cars can run 12's with slicks completely stock...By looking at that video...both cars got a good launch but i don't know what rpm this guy was shifting at. So who knows if he was going all out or not.

That's REALLY surprising considering the GTO's have an LS1. With full bolt ons a GTO should make as much power as a stock Cobra. Throw on a blower and it should run all over that Cobra.

Ive seen a '04 cobra on MT drag slicks run a 12 flat at my track (which sucks @$$ remember) so there is no telling what one with drag slicks and a good driver will do on a good track.

Bone stock? Meaning no exhaust work or anything...Straight from the factory? I know they can run 12.4's with just a tire pressure adjustment.

Cobra's are badass, but an LS1 with any type of forced induction should destroy a stock Cobra. That's like saying if you S/C a 2.0L engine it will run with a 4.6L engine. Both running equal boost of course. The Cobra runs what, 9psi, stock?

It's a MODDED '03 Cobra.... Last time I was there he ran a 12.09 to the GTO's 12.3

The Cobra was on Nitto Dr's (275's) and I have no idea what the GTO was running as far as tires...

I don't think he had bolt-ons, just the S/Cer from Linginfelter.

Some guy on SVTPerformance is swearing he's ran a 13.2 @ 105 and that he has a vid. When ppl offered to host it, he stopped replying.

And yes, they're ugly.

Eh, I guess everyone has their opinion, even if yours is wrong . I think TA's and Maro's look way better than a box on wheels, but that's just IMO. Lowered Cobra's however....mmmm.

And yes, the '05GT is the ugliest Mustang since the Pintostang.
