Hey there out in the world of Mustangdom...It is I...the great mighty Boone, well almost.  Anyway, long time lover of mustangs, but unfortunately long time driver of Honda Accords (the family has three) Ugh

Im in the market, finally, for a car that is better than an Accord...and have settled on an 87-93 notchback.  which is the lighter car, the LX or the GT?  Im'a be turning the car into a dedicated road-racer and could use a few hints.

A notch will be the LX. I would most def. get the notch, if you can find one in good condition for a good price.

Hell yeah man, get a notch. Stock to stock, the LX is faster than the GT, but not by much. Just a little weight difference. Also, look for a 89-93 if you can, because those are the mass air 5.0's.

I say 89 - 92, in 93 Ford did away with the factory forged pistons.
